Clev needs the rematch with Bellew more than Bellew needs him now IMO. Clev couldnt get a fight in a pub car park right now, Fwank cant place him with anyone for some reason (other than he is a berk) Bomber is or probably will be in with the Matchroom guys now who all (barring Barker) are all very active right now and run by someone who seems to love the sport rather than just the money coming in. Better placed the more popular fighter of the two and the potential for an explosive fight. He fought a good tactical fight, sometimes you gotta admore the skill behind taking away your opponents strengths. Mayweather used to always get criticism for boring fights when really he was just solid tactically. Bellew may be a few levels away from Floyds league but its a good model to follow if you ask me.
It was close but the Vorderman-Botherer did actually win. ('Cos he didn't turn it into a brawl) Brains vs Brawn and all that, yoof!
Nathan hasn't improved at all in a couple of years. He's gonna get himself badly knocked out, if he continues training with the old man.
:deal Agree with this though I had Bellew winning their meeting 115-113. Though according to Abertawe's great logic, even though you made a balanced argument as to why you rate Bellew higher, YOU'RE the one who doesn't have half a brain
I agree fully, I am definitely not under nourished at this weight though, if I was I could never have survived the knockdowns or bangs I've had in my career so far! I just train hard and listen to the team around me.. I firmly believe I can become a world champion in the future and I'm just he'll bent on proving it...
Sure thing my mancunian friend! Danny McIntosh hits hard! Miranda cleaned out Allan Green and went 12 with Ward! Wards words were "Miranda can crack boy". I don't need to be going anywhere! I'm a 175lbs fighter and you know it! I'll stay here till I'm a world champion too.!
Thank you.. I'd just lke to say the Dawson tale is true.. A member of my team seen the clip on a member of his teams phone.. It shocked me too..
It's crazy this term of me "not believing in my chin" I have every confidence in my chin, I've fought 2 known punchers in my last 2 fights and both were highly awkward so I had to take some too.. I've been down properly twice and once seriously of which I just bounced back up.. Believe me my chin won't let me down and my fitness allows me to take a lot of punishment and come straight back.. Saturday was just a bit too patient but hey I'm still learning and if could go back maybe it would have been over quicker.. I mean common do people really believe I'm gonna stand and trade in the middle of the ring with him.. I've seen to many try it.. Allan Green comes to mind straight away.. I fought the same version of Miranda that Ward and Chilemba fought and I believe I done what made sense especially with what was at stake.. As usual thanks to you guys on here.. I really appreciate it
That would be my only criticism, Tony, and it's a minor one. There were times when I was urging you to be more aggressive, as every time you went on the front foot you had him backing up and out of his comfort zone. There was a couple of times when he started dancing about after you had caught him with a good shot and it would have great if you'd just clocked him with a big right hand instead of backing off. But like I say, it's a minor criticism and you explained it well enough in the post fight interview. All in all a job well done.
I didn't find the performance boring personally If anything It was a pretty mature performance even though Miranda isn't the same fighter as he was at 160 he can still punch frustrate his opponents.
Would be interested to hear Tony's view on Miranda quitting? Seemed to do a Ortiz, he woulda got stopped anyway but I'd put good money on Tony carrying on if he was in Miranda's position!
Just before Miranda took a knee, Tony smashed a couple of left hooks to his kidneys, I think that's what done it?
