This guy is too often forgotten when talking about our greatest and most innovative fighters. Groundbreaking technique that few could copy. High science for his or any day. He was a bit consistent in his performances but at his best he looked as amazing as Duran or Mayweather. Where do you rank him? Is there anyone who is an absolute favorite over him when he was at his peak?

Thank you for making this thread cos Canzoneri deserves recognition. That ko of Jackie Kid Berg was classic. Do yourself a favor watch this tribute and see for yourself this great fighter perform. The guys he is facing in this tribute were great fighters themselves. This is what I like about this forum it shines a light on past greats who we barely acknowledge. Hopefully the naysayers leave it alone and let us enjoy Canzi. Think about this out of a 175 fights he was only stopped once in his last fight.

Great fighter. Reviewing his record, there was a long period of time he was fighting once a month.
5'4", with a 65" reach. Fought many of the best of his era (don't think he fought Henry Armstrong though)

    That was absolutely sensational.
    No science then apparently.
So 60 years before Hamed somebody had already mastered that style!

One of the most creative fighters boxing has ever seen. One of my all time favourites to watch.

Balls of Steel as well, and quite the under rated puncher.

Beautiful movement, angles and fantastic elusiveness. And the punchers came in from all angles.

I'd have love to have seen this guy live or in HD film.
