I've never seen anything like this before? Please post the fight and let me know your opinion. Thank you.
Yes, of course the 2nd Championship match. I watched it several times and noticed something very unusual that really is a conundrum in my opinion. Can you find anything challenging about this outcome? I don't know how to paste it on the forum, could anyone post it on this forum for further examination and critique.
New rule for the time,Ref states there is to be no holding Going off the 33min youtube version which feels like the commentator is surrounded by Mossad Uzis it looks the "master boxer" Ross got clearly whipped by Bonnano family Capo regime Canzoneri. One of the greatest displays of skill on celluloid film here by Tony.
I agree with you, Tony was robbed. Focus on the last round and finish of the fight, what is the give away?
Looked like Canzoneri was going for the KO from the 1st round,No diffrence in the final round.Ross looked slightly staggered off balance after a right hander. He outfought him on the inside and outside.Ross had some chin on him mind Was this the last unofficial newspaper fight or something? Its clear he had to KO him to take the title
Cant see anything out of the ordinary goin on,Is it to do with the referee tapping Canzoneri on the shoulder? Any clues?
I have just watched the 33 minutes version on Youtube, and I have no problem with Barney Ross getting the decision. funny thing is that the commentary is done by Steve Holdsworth - he was not even born at the time of the fight.
Joe Humphrey's crawled through the ropes, within 4 seconds end of the fight. The judges haven't even handed in the scores, before Humphrey's ran over to Ross corner and lifted Barney's hand in victory. Commentators are expected to remain neutral and not interfere with the proceedings. Humphrey's created a moment of confusion and shock among spectators and participants alike. "look at all their faces in confusion'" Joe Humphrey's action certainly cast a shadow over what should of been a straightforward announcement of results based solely on judges scores. Look again and make a comment. The last 8 seconds of the fight.
Must be a different version! White hat Joe was the last one in the ring and didnt go near either fighter until it cuts to his raising Ross's arm
Ron, I see what you're saying, but there is broken continuity to this film. It may be only a few seconds on the film from when the bell rings ending the fight but in real time you can see that by the time Humphries gets to Ross, he is already robed up. The decision has clearly already been read by this point. I wish the film was in it's 15 round entirety. Would love to watch and score it.
