Hard to say, I think a lot of this depends on Canzi. Barrerra's body punching and swarming might be a great foil for Canzoneri's tendency to sway a little bit much. That said, Tony could exchange really really well up close too, so its hard for me to see him losing out there after the chocolate fight footage. I also think he has a big athletic edge overall. Canzoneri KO 9
I see it going like the Hamed fight with Canzoneri's low hands counter punching powerpunching style having similarities to Hamed, MAB should be able to box his way to a decision EDIT I'll stick by my pick but just noticed its at 130, very unfair you sneaky German
Barrera's body punching and swarming was at an all-time low at SFW. He's going to get outboxed here but no stoppage. Canzoneri UD12.
Canzoneri was elusive in the pocket and did well with his low-hands style. But as has already been said, Barrera is a bad matchup for him. His accurate combinations and body punching would be hell for Canzoneri. Although Barrera was there to be hit, i think he's faster and would get off first. Canzoneri doesnt have the stance to push him away.
I think Canzi is overall a lot faster. I agree with you Addie in that he was less active here, but he still beats Barrera on the outside. Not sure why he's getting Hamed comparisons here, is it just the low hands? The two are nothing alike. Canzi is a pressure fighter, not a mover, he would be just fine engaging Barrera up close or from far away, he slips punches incredibly well and did it against much bigger fighters and a faster guy in KC.
Tony likes to counter-pressure. He would pressure you but let you throw first, slip and counter you. He was so excellent at this.
Well yes and no, the low hands make him easy to hit for someone with MABs handspeed, good shot slipper or not. Hamed was an excellent shot slipper too and also wasn't a mover when MAB faced him and he was also excellent inside too, with perhaps the best FW uppercut ever, both are quick I'd say Hamed quicker and ofcourse both are brutal punchers. Canz also had wider punches that were a little telegraphed like Hamed. So there are a few similarities MAB didn't pressure or look to engage Hamed he boxed him, he'd do the same here and as Ross and Chocolate outboxed him MAB would too
Chocolate didn't outbox him, at all. Period. At any range. Tony pushed the fight on him very successfully. legit win. And Barney Ross is a much bigger(and better fighter) than Mab. That stage Hamed wasn't the slipper he used to be, nor did he ever demonstrate great ability against the best. Naseem at his best never bobbed like Canzi, wasn't his style. Canzi would throw wide hooks but he could be very concise as well, no doubt. MAB isn't a good enough backfoot boxer to beat Canzi , his best chance is to exchange mano a mano and hope to come out on top somehow, but even then at 130 his chances aren't too hot.
I think Chocolate is better than MAB, but stylistically it suits MAB, not saying as a whole he's better than Canz just his short sharp left hook and jab, tight guard, counterpunching and smart boxing see him beat a fighter with such low hands EB not got any drunk passed out girls to ****?
Canzoneri would put his hands down and dare you to hit him. But you better expect something back. In the case of Barrera and Canzoneri, Barrera better expect something a lot harder back.
Barrera has got the tight guard, forward-motion and short punches to interrogate Canzoneri, but lest we forget how good the latter was at slugging it out. Tony possessed a crunching right hand and could mix up his venomous swings with some slippery boxing in a manner not dissimilar to Aaron Pryor. It would likely prove a highly contested fight, but taking into account the fact that Canzoneri operated better at a heigher weight and defeated such an array of stellar competition, Ted Spoon would have to give it to the New Yorker.
