Cacace wins it on points. Sorry, can't give any more detail than that; watching on mute at work and they didn't bother showing a graphic with the scores or even decision type.
Shouldn't be. That card doesn't even start for more than an hour. No way should the main events clash at all.
To the victor go the spoils. :!:Anthony's being interviewed at ringside by Bunce, who's slapping him upside the head. :blood
Again: no volume here. Mind providing the 411 on what's said in the interviews? :good ...and why did Steve keep softly cuffing him like he was scalding a grade school truant?
I'm sorry but I could only understand every other word. But he said he wanted to go the full 8, see how far he could go or something like that. :good Didn't understand much of the rest... he was talkin' too much leprechaun for me
Cacace was born in Belfast Ireland to an Italian father, boxed as an am for Ireland and was very impresive in the amateurs, he gave it up for a few years, used to like watching him as an am and will make a good pro imo .
Williams and Byrne have the exact same number of professional victories at two apiece. What somewhat distinguishes their records is the fact that Byrne has 27 losses (eight by KO) and Williams has none. :rofl
The other commentator had insisted that Cacace was an Irish name, Bunce disagreed & Cacace confirmed it is Italian, from his Neapolitan father. He does sound very, very Irish, straight out of Belfast & was pleased to have done 8 rounds in only his 4th fight, says he makes the weight comfortably & may be fighting for an Irish title next
Round 1 Williams reaches in with a left to the body and gets grabbed. Break. Again Williams hunkers down and stalks his way in low, seeking a left hook to the body but getting clinched up with his shoulders clawed up as he leans in let it fly. Very sloppy action. Byrne is tugging and twisting on Williams' arms, not allowing him to get off up close. Williams changes it up and tries to clap over the top with a right hand. Clinched again. Byrne jogs in place in front of him and pops a single left jab. Williams comes forward, doubles a jab to the face and quickly ducks to plant a left hook to the body. Byrne dances back to the ropes and leans out of the way of a looping right hand, but gets clipped with just the tip of it on his chin. Williams smacks him in the body a few times before and during the next clinch, where Byrne pushes down on his head. 10-9 Williams
Round 2 Williams barrels his way in at waist level, trying to dodge the pushing and pulling attempts of Byrne and score cleanly to the body. In and out with uppercuts. Byrne is bothered by them. Byrne ups his clinch game, putting the squeeze on Williams. A few thumps to the sternum at point blank by Williams get Byrne dancing outside. Big swings by Williams, grazing but causing damage. Byrne jumps in, straightening himself up so that his chest smashes into Williams' face when he grabs him. Byrne smothers and releases. Williams comes forward, big lead uppercut. Byrne grabs him and wrestles him to the ropes. Huge left hook loaded up by Williams aiming to the body as Byrne skips back and lowers his elbow into it. Williams keeps sliding forward, bobbing and weaving needlessly as Byrne isn't looking to counter at all. 20-18 Williams
The Future Irish Joe Calzaghe ! There is also another novice Irish/Italian pro from Belfast called Alfredo Meli !
