Two weight cuts in a short amount of time, self trained, training methods that are beyond stupid, mental health problems...

This guy needs saving from himself, IMHO. His decision making is absolutely shocking.

If he got with a world class camp we would see a very scary version of T-Ferg.

    Anyone else agree?

The guy is 36 years old. He's not going to get any better at this point.

Gaethje will always be a problem for him because he has better striking. If Tony had tried to take the fight to the ground, he may have turned it around, but didn't and tried to out-strike Gaethje.

I'm surprised he didn't tried to make a mid-fight adjustment when things weren't going his way. He should have tried to take Gaethje down and use his BJJ.

I think we've already seen the best of Tony Ferguson. It's only going to be downhill from here.

Good thread. Personally, his method to madness has made him one of the greatest fighters in his weight class and of all time. Unfortunately, grandfather time catches up with you at age 36+, and athletes at that age start to decline, especially those that have had significant injuries like Ferguson. Sure there are exception to the rules, with athletes succeeding in to their 40's, such as the of likes Bernard Hopkins and Jerry Rice, in boxing and football respectively, however they're anomalies rather standards.
