Man I wish've we would've had the films of all of Galento's knockouts. I bet he put some people to sleep in a bad way.

Galento was a terror in the ring. He had a string of eleven consecutive kos going into his bout with Louis many against top ten contenders. During an interview in the early 70's Galento was taken aback when lumped into the bum of the month club. " I was no bum" he told the interviewer and then rattled off a list of all the good fighters he had koed. Tony had an outrageous personality that caused later generations to look upon him as a joke. The guy was as tough as nails and hit like a hammer.

A marvellously correct and brutal execution, but, how the f*ck did Louis manage to get caught with so many wide hooks? Immediately after getting knocked down he gets tagged with the same punch and again in the 4th and last round!

Remember...Louis did things that Tyson couldn't...namely get knocked down...then get up and kick your ass!!!

Tyson wouldn't have had to come off the floor vs Galento to be fair.

No he wouldn't, to go down and get up to win you have to first go down.

Lol. It took way more to put Tyson down than it took to knock down Louis. Tyson only went down after rounds and rounds of hard punches to the face and head.

This quote may be the one thing that solves the whole Ali vs Tyson toss-up! Ali punches round after round and then Tyson falls!

Well in this instance, it was right after a knockdown so he was still a little shaky.

But I wouldn't sell Galentos hooks short. They may look wide from the comfort of our computer screens, but he actually threw them really quick for the power they carried.

Galento covers an awkward amount of distance with that hook.

So now Galento's punches are really quick? Come on...They're wide and you can see them coming from a mile away. I stand by a comment I made a while back, that Louis should be absolutely ashamed of himself for getting caught with them.
