    I would lean towards Galento

    When I've seen Galento jab is seems like a ramrod compared to Firpo who looks like a flailing fish. People fight in different manners and Galento knew how to fight in a particular style that suited him.

    Tony Galento.

    I think he was a better fighter. More seasoned, more crafty. A better fouler.

    The only thing worse for your standing on this forum than being Jack Dempsey is loosing to Jack Dempsey.

    If your being any good would oblige people to give him credit, then you realy are a marked man.

    As an equally avid 'Dempsey fan' as I am a 'Louis fan', I can categorically state that Luis Firpo and Tony Galento were both all-time greats.

    It's just that I think Galento has the edge in this fight.

    I think Firpo was a little better, and beat better fighters. Galento lost to too many journeyman.


    I also think Galento was lucky not to be DQ'd in some fights, and to get decisions in others.
