I'd take the guy who fought wars with Louis and Baer, almost ko'ing the champ over a steroid cheat any day.
I would think Galento, who was a very dirty fighter (his win over Lou Nova was marred by some very blatant fouls) would get disqualified, if he tried to fight 'his' fight with any modern fighter. Beyond that, I just don't see him beating any of these guys, barring a lucky punch. From the films, it appears he could hit, so I would allow that if he landed a big hook, he could conceivably KO them, but it is a very big if.
Galento Knew what he was doing also. The man was a heavy handed brawler who had over 100 fights, 3 title shots, dropped one of the best of all time and gave him hell for 3 rounds and Gave another huge puncher a tough go but didn't know how to fight? Sounds odd to me. The smell alone might have been too much for Ortiz.:dead
I didn't say he couldn't fight. Maybe he'd knock out Tommy Morrison or Bruce Seldon. Ortiz is a completely different animal though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What racist views have I expressed? The last time I checked italian wasn't a race. There is 1 race the human race. My name is meant to be ironical.
Your name is ironic because you think every Italian fighter was Jesus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is a reason why Wilder has been matched so carefully. Do you think his handlers would have sent him into a world title fight so poorly prepared, if they thought that he had a decent chin?
Stiverne could crack and was technically better than Galento. He could deliver a left hook more accurately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wilder has fought several men who were far better equipped to test his chin than Galento ever would be. Galento's powerful telegraphed haymakers are worthless against a mobile big man who knows how to box.
I don't know what you're trying to imply. Stiverne suffered from rhabdomyolosis as a result of the fight, but came in ready and gave it a good effort. He's like Galento with superior size, chin and technical skill --meaning defense, footwork, and counterpunching. Galento fought more ***** out but that would likely get him knocked out against Wilder. Here's a great highlight reel from that fight: https://youtu.be/dhu6Ti4hDTA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The only two Italian-American fighters I have ever talked about are Marciano and Galento. I'm pretty sure I **** on Carnera whenever he is brought up.
Wilder is a throwback fighter. A true brawler with a ton of heart. You don't see that too much nowdays. I haven't seen his chin tested though but I like him so far. I don't count the knockdown at the beginning of his career because if that mean't anything he would have been ktfo already. I want him in with some top heavies so he can prove himself as the great fighter he is.
