He had average resilience. Maskaev KOed him twice, though it was as much exhaustion second time round as Maskaev's fists that did the job. He also survived a Sanders knockdown to come back and stop him in the middle rounds. He withstood both Wlad and Povetkin's shots and was stopped on his feet both times.

Toney stopped him on cuts from an accidental head clash. I'm sure you were aware of that when you mentioned it first time round.

Yes, that's more or less what I'm saying. The thing which made that difficult was Tua's explosive power, which could come at any time. Therefore, you had to be on your A game the entire fight. Lots of guys were able to do that for nine or ten rounds, then let down their guard and got blasted out.

It was relatively easy to make Tua look bad and win rounds off him, another thing entirely to do that for the entire fight.

I've seen Nova fight, and like a lot of guys from that era he looked to have a propensity to in-fight with his opponent regardless of their abilities. That coupled with being of average size, average speed and average punching power doesn't give him much to work with against Tua.

Tua would plod slowly after him then thud a few lefts into his dome when he tried to close distance and that'd be the end of things. It's not a hard fight to predict.
