I think Tyson routs Galento inside 2, similarly to Tubbs. Ouch! Galento would crouch and Tyson would quickly dig his trademark right to body/right uppercut to chin combo time and again, to devastating effect. Louis would momentarily freeze when hit solidly and thus allowed Galento to get into their fight. Tyson always walked through early single bombs, so "Two-Ton" Tony, for all his toughness, would never see a crevice.
Tyson easily. Galento wasn't much of a "deep water" man himself so there's not much of a chance there either.
With all respect to Joe Louis Barrow... Joe Louis is no Mike Tyson. Nobody gets rid of "B" and "C" fighters better than Mike. Nobody...
By offering up a response like that to Janitor, you just basically insured that this thread will be around for another 6-7 days, when in fact it should have been pushed back to about page 5 by now...........Nice goin'
Downright ugly win for tyson. He'd make galento squeal like a pig, ripping nasty punches to the body and torturing him for a round or two before ending his misery. If galento insulted "catskill thunder" before the fight then the beating might be prolonged for a few rounds.
I think the result of this fight would be similar to the Bruno fight in that Galento would land some big shots and stop Mike in his tracks momentarilly, but all in all Tyson would still dominate and finish him. When i think about it, it would look a lot like Galento - Louis, though i could see Mike finish it a touch early. Definitely it wouldnt be a bad matchup, but i dont see any real chance for Galento, unless Tyson is older. The Tyson who lost to Williams is obviously mauled by Galento.
Bruno was 6'4" and a ripped 235 or 240 .... Galento would have been dangerous for a while for some giys but Tyson is a horrible match up for him ... Mike in one or two rounds ... To say Tyson hit harder than Joe Louis is a joke ... both were in the top level of punchers in heavyweight history.
Galento was tougher than given credit here...and his short stocky legs and solid chin and sneaky power could be a danger. I got Mike winning it by a stop before8 but he may be very uncomfortable and rocked a few times by unorthodox Galento
This is very true. Well, with the obvious exception of Douglas. But no one put away good but not great fighters quite like Tyson. Not even Louis or Ali. I have a hard time enviosioning anything but a brutal KO here. Probably within the first round. Galento might have been more durable than Tubbs, but his defence was poorer. And durability alone is far from enough when taking on a prime Tyson.
For those that are totally writing off Galento, it is worth thinking about which modern fighter is closest in ability and style to Galento. For mine, that name would be David Tua. Yet strangely, i get the feeling that predictions in Tyson vs Tua match would see Tua being given a much much stronger chance, particularly by those who totally write off Galento.
BIG DEE HERE= Tyson was easily screwed with in the head by someone who stood up to him and wasn`t afraid. Galento wasn`t afraid of anybody and I mean anybody including Tyson. This fight would go to Tyson but it would be a WAR from the opening bell with Galento using every dirty trick in the book to disable Tyson. If Tyson tried to bite Galento`s ear he wouldn`t have cried to the referee like Holyfield did but stick his thumb thru Tyson`s eyeball untill it came out the back of his head. Galento was a big strong guy who could take a helluva punch and rip a heavybag off it`s moorings. Tysons in for a fight as long as it lasts,Tyson wins but he knows he was in a fight.
