Nah I used to like him but I call it like I see it. He didn't win that fight.

Perrella landed more punches, had the more signature moments, and was the busier fighter.

He should have won the fight.

Wtf?! Perrella clearly won that Harrison looked horrible. 116-112 to Harrison?! Jesus wept!

These days you know it 30 seconds after the fight is announced - let alone when the bell rings to start the 1st round. Pathetic.

Boxing gonna boxing. Perrella won in the court of public opinion but you can’t have that many competitive rounds against the A-side. It’s just not gonna go your way often.

He lost several rounds in a row once Harrison started jabbing later in the fight. He basically pulled out the draw by turning in up in the 12th and deserves credit for that.

You are aware flicking out a jab doesn't count right, actually LANDING IT does.

We evidently watched a different fight. At no point did Perrella lose "several rounds in a row" as a result of Harrison's jabbing.

When even the on air network talent and ring side scorer believe the A-side/ house fighter lost, you can pretty much take it to the bank.

I guess why do that for Tony Harrison of all people? If someone's a Tony Harrison fan they've already had to deal with the trauma of him losing, they're loyal apparently.

Shows that you're new to the sport if you've never seen a commentating team fall for a narrative.

116-112 Harrison is one of the worst cards i have ever seen in my entire life.

It was 116-112 Perrella AT WORST. More likely 117-111 or 118-110 Perrella.

I've been following the sport for 30+ years. So, no, I'm scarcely a recent convert to boxing.

What would be new, however, is to have a network announcing team--for no apparent reason, mind you-- decide to adopt a "narrative" in favor of the B-side fighter at the expense of a former champ, more marketable A-side fighter.

Yes, that would be novel indeed. Or it could just be a) you can't score a fight or b) you are the one pushing a "narrative."

You act like nobody has ever rooted for an underdog.
