Tony Harrison vs. Ishé Oluwa Kamau Ali Smith/Andrew Omotunde Tabiti vs. Lateef Olalalekin Kayode RBR

I suspect Kayode is about to be kayoed in his official third defeat (but in reality his fifth time being vanquished - PED's or no, Antonio Tarver outfought him and Luis Ortiz iced him and the results would've been the same if their systems were clean as whistles..)

 

Round 1

Tabiti is jabbing into the guard of Kayode while gliding around him steadily, keeping in a partial squat/lean. Slow pace to start out, both feeling one another out. Tabiti is ducking the 1-2 and briefly tying up, then letting go. Kayode misses some more right hands dropped from up by his chin, and backhands the jab out awkwardly, missing, initiating some more catch & release from Tabiti. Kenny Bayless doing a good job facilitating quick breaks. Tabiti ducks a leaping Kayode power-jab and wedges his skull into Kayode's armpit.

Trout doing his best to hype up an obvious mismatch, resorting to selling us a bit of snake oil about Kayode's high KO percentage (not mentioning that it has come against bums)

 

Round 2

Tabiti is leading Kayode on a merry hunt across the Corona logo, ducking so the stray Kayode jab, flicked out in multiples on the forward trot, buzzes harmlessly across the hairline, sometimes a full inch or two above the scalp. Tabiti is countering with right hands over the top after momentarily dropping anchor or pivoting to get a side angle on Kayode. The large Nigerian is walking Tabiti down but not really cutting the ring off effectively, just plodding after him, sometimes breaking into a light jog, and spraying jabs into the air. Lots of collision/clinching, broken up by Kenny Bayless.

Round 3

Tabiti is starting to push Kayode into the ropes and open up now. Hard right hand delivered into the sternum to pin him in place and then a left hook up top, rocking Kayode. Tabiti is staying in the pocket, getting off first with a grazing right hand past the Kayode jab, collapsing into a clinch. Break. Another clinch. Hard rabbit punch by Kayode, and Bayless warns him sternly. Tabiti gets chest-bumped into the ropes, Kayode pressing atop him like they were doing a tango. 1-2 by Tabiti stepping outside. Kayode persistently jabbing his way in and swallowing Tabiti into rough clinches, wrenching him around, swinging him bodily into the ropes and then clubbing with mostly illegal blows. Tabiti is conserving his energy instead of attempting to wrestle free, waiting on Bayless to bail him out, focusing on delivering clean pot shots in between the clinches, either single blasts with the right or straight combos.

Yeah, this on paper seemed like the right sort of matchmaking for Tabiti at this point (familiar name that been on TV but that he should outclass) to perhaps a misstep. He'll eke out an ugly decision, thus dampening some of the shine from his most recent W over Cunningham...

Round 4

Tabiti is still getting in the only clean shots, while Kayode marches & mauls. Hideous stuff. Very stop & go in terms of discernible clean, legal action.
