Can't say they did.

I was rooting for Charlo and predicted a Charlo KO.

When the action got going, I was disappointed.

Like IB, I had Harrison sweeping 5 of the first 6 rounds. He would have won 2nd as well, but for the KD.

After that, it got much closer.

From there, I diverged from IB's scoring, giving Charlo two or maybe three of the next four rounds.

I had Harrison ahead by one to three points going into the eleventh, looking like he needed a KO.

And he got it !

Convincingly.

The stoppage was good....It could have been called on the second KD...some refs would have.

At the time of stoppage, Harrison's head was all over the place, focus gone. Legs gone.

If he had made it to the end of eleven, it would have been a 10-7 round, putting him ahead or at worst even, with a round to go.


So the bout did go the way I predicted in terms of result, but not in the way it was scored.

Any judge who had had Charlo ahead going into the eleventh needs a career change.

 

Harrison deserves a rubber match.

No question.

 

I could see the 2nd KD as well. But the final eh, not a bad stoppage. That's why I loved when Steve Smoger & Frank Cappacino ref'd fights. There were times when I wanted them to stop it, but almost all that continued proved they knew when to give a champion a chance. No doubt Harrison was hurt, but he was coherent. When a fighter can respond like that...give him a chance. He's the champ.
Well past tense.

 

I would enjoy a third bout but I doubt it has enough appeal and money behind it to generate enough interest for a trilogy

Just watched the fight.

Had Harrison up 97-92 at the time of the stoppage, only gave Charlo round 2 and 4.

Whoever had Charlo up either has an agenda or needs to go watch a different sport.

I respect you man, I like you, you know this...I just don’t understand what happened to you. Go back and read your round by rounds from 5 years ago, 3 years ago even. It was a close fight, with paper thin margins round by round, either way you scored it. It’s not that your score is “wrong” because it could have been scored any way and been “right”. The difference being one guy was obviously doing significantly more damage. As Harrison said, Charlo earned it. Not to mention the fact that all of this talk of a potential “robbery” when Charlo is the only one of the two that has been legitimately robbed, no?

 

Based on what? I agree it would be a good and fun fight, but does he “deserve” it? He was gifted the belt to begin with, then got KO”d in the rematch...I would disagree that he deserves it, even though I’d be cool with it because I like good fights.

 

Surprise surprise same posters who thought Wilder earned a draw against Fury and Canelo deserved a draw against GGG had Charloe AHEAD on their scorecards

 

Man this loss stings even worse this morning compared to last night. This ones gonna linger like a protein fart.
