Tony Jeffries "How Tommy Brooks is releasing his potential and why the Americans can't understand his accent" The always excellent Brendan Galbraith has put this up on the main page too but here's the link on what has been a brilliant day for UK boxing tv coverage - just to keep the banter going This content is protected
as likeable as jeffries is ,im afraid he will never get past british title level imo although i hope he proves me wrong
Jeffries is a bum, he aint going past british level, he got schooled by BANBULA in the last few rounds of there fight, he put on a clinic.
jeffries wont do ****,he wont even win a british title.the guys just deluded man ,im trying to work out whos thicker jeffries or degale .
I was talking to Jeffries the other day, seems Brookes is a lot harder on him than Rimmer was. Said he watches him constantly and corrects everything he does wrong. Seems if he's going to improve then he's probably in the right hands, he's annonamous over there so he hasnt got any preoccupations and he can concentrate on boxing. He also said he hopes to fight for a title in his next two bouts so we'll see just how much he has improved when he's back in the ring. He also said he'd love to fight Banbula again cause he's been calling him out. He said he's jump at the chance and would knock him out this time to put the record straight.
from z level to x level! he needs to keep trainign hard. he has potential btu ALOT of work needs to be done.
LOL thats what I was thinking, he is going to have to go up a few "Levels" if he is ever going to be good enough to win a British title.
He was saying sparrings hard and better and he's working great in gym with Tommy. Then says he's still recovering from eye surgery after last fight and will be sparring from May....you go from optimistic hoping lad's getting it together to...oh ffs Tony you were **** in last bout..and your going on like your sparring when you haven't been. Guy doesn't have it in him to go far in pro ranks IMO. I think he sorta guy that believes he's working hard but he's clearly not.
best of luck to him, really hope he ups his game and proves himself. Theres nothing wrong with being British title level. id be honoured to be that good and own a lonsdale belt:deal
I don't see him winning the British title, as bad as that sounds for an Olympic medallist. In order to do that he's going to have to beat a Bellew, a Dodson or a McIntosh..... when he basically lost to Bambula a couple of fights ago that looks unlikely. He made the wrong decision signing with Mismatch and ended up stagnating, when he ought to have signed with Warren like the rest of them and got some proper opponents. Leaving Gallagher was a big mistake too, when there was plenty of sparring to be had at that gym and other quality fighters to work with too.
