The lads just happy doing what he's doing. He wants no part of Travis Dickinson and from what I here ducked former ABA winner David Pendalton like the plague in the amateurs. Don't feel sorry on him he's living the high life as a PT in LA. He got a lot closer to his dreams than most ever do but didn't have the heart for the pro game and from what I here he's a bit of a dick as well.

  3. He laid into me on Boxrec once after I suggested that he needs to accept criticism a bit better, so long as it's constructive.

What I got was ''Why should I (in bold) accept criticism from anyone?''

He just didn't want it enough to put in the hard yards, he'd have been better staying amateur.

He was happy with the money and being a celebriy hot dog stand worker at Sunderland home games, but the hard graft was a step too far for him, like it is 99% of others.

I suppose the difference between him and most others is that they discovered beer and shagging before we got anywhere near the Olympics.

To be honest, I hope he does stay away and enjoys what he does from hereon, better that than see him turn into a Tom Dallas, getting smacked around when he clearly doesn't want to be there.

I'm sure many of us (inc me) have been in jobs that we just didn't want to get up for or had lost interest in - fair play to him for doing something about it.

I think his gigantic horse like head is a greater impediment than his hands.

watched him live twice, gets hit far to much, and struggled with journey men both times, always looking for the big 1 punch knock out instead of trying to set anything up, definatly think his heads up his arse when it comes to his ring IQ

Agree 100% with this. He seemed to be far too happy to be classed as a local hero in Sunderland and did not respond at all well to criticism. Thought in his first few fights he looked alright in terms of his offence but even then he looked all over the place defensively, think it was his 2nd fight against some hapless German lad where his opponent couldn't miss on the rare occasions he threw a punch.

Wasn't there somebody on here who said that Maloney only signed him to basically use him as cannon fodder for Sutherland somewhere down the line? Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that was true to be honest and with him having only had 1 fight since 2010 I'd be very surprised if we saw him fighting again.

Spearmint Rhino hit it on the head really. Fair play to him for doing as well as he did but his heart wasn't in the game (like many of us feel about jobs) and boxing is the wrong place to be if your in that predicament. It's a shame because him against Travis Dickinson would have really put the spot light on North East boxing.

Fair enough if his heart isn't in it, good luck to him. Probably will be earning more money than he would from boxing anyway
