    I'm disappointed.. lol.. lol..

My real name is actually Anthony.. Go figure.. lol

    I think I need some sleep. :D

Kel, I'll take a peek through some old Fighter mags and get more details about Mundine/Monzon.. Old Ern' always scribed some great reports, as did Jack Rennie with Lionel when in Hawaii or Japan, L.A etc.

    :good

Just a priceless set of words from Carlos Monzon...

Story written by Ern McQuillan Jnr, Fighter Magazine Nov 1974.

From Monzon came words of praise for the opponent he had tried to bait before the fight, for psycological effect. "Moon-dee-nay can be a world champion", he said now. "His speed suprised me at first. And I was suprised he kept coming at me. He should have stayed back and boxed, that's lack of experience.

"If the Australian keeps up his condition and learns to plan his fights more then he can become the numero uno after I go", said Carlos Monzon.

My own words..... Just remember, Monzon was engaging in his 10th Title defence. Tony Mundine was a 23 y/o in the backyard of the BEST M/W ever (IMO)... For Monzon to speak so highly of any fallen opponent was not just rare.. It was unheard of!!

In the same article, Ron Casey assumes Tony Mundine will be back playing NRL by 1975..

Amazing.. Tony Mundine boxed for another 10 or 11 years, winning numerous titles of distinction, against opponents of the same distinction. Definately one of Australia's best.

    also.....

often 3 bigger men are sent in against mundine to spar...biff, les, (cant think of the others name). 2-3 rounds each, in and out, mundine fights them non stop. mundine rarely wins a round and has been dropped by biff...on at least one occasion.

I heard he got served a dish of "beaten to a pulp" stew by Paul Briggs when he was in preperation for the Kessler fight. There were pictures posted afterwards of Mundine and his black eye.

I had a lot to do with chocs preparation for the medley fight. He boxed 3 times a week
with different guys without dropping a round. I think he showed a lot more aggresion than in previous fights. This year he will chase the big fights. And to all you experts he could of made jnr middle.

Yes you are right. I was asked to assist choc in his last fight because I am a comedian. I was also inducted into the Australian Hall Of Fame for my humour. While I have got you laughing understand most decisions are made by Khodder. Choc has a say but the final word comes from Khodder. Like him or not he is his manager.
