I disagree. He still would have had to beat a Briscoe or Valdez and history shows us Briscoe ko'ed Tony the same year as Monzon. Briscoe actually beat Mundine before Monzon did 8 months later. The roll of the dice would have REALLY had to fall Tony's way for this to happen.
Yes, but today there are more than 1 or 2 titles about. I don't even think you've got to be a world class fighter to win half of them.
I do apologise. I agree, It wasn't just because of Monzon that Mundine wouldn't have won a title in his own time. I was actually referring to the bit about today which of course you weren't disagreeing with. Does that make sense?
