Henry is Probably more remembered as a Party-of- the-Second-Part Super Middle when coming up Against Superb defendants Such as Benn, Eubank and Reid, He was very exciting, One of those Time-Bomb Fighters you watch..and wait for the Explosion, As Indeed was Sibson Himself, Wharton was crowned the Commonwealth and European Supermiddle champ, Sibson did the same at Middle, Sibson Had an Exciting Roller-Coaster Career. Mixing with the Best and chalking up a few Nice Name wins along the way,

Both had a Thunderous Left Hook any Philly Middle would of been Glad to own And Sizzling Follow-up Combo's Should they needed to Finish off wounded Prey. Sibson had a surprisingly effective left Jab for such a Stocky Fighter Sibson had the Better Footwork and Came forward in a "Rolling Thunder" Advance Henry tended to Plod Forward and did not Cut the Ring which cost him on occassion, But he did have that Granite Chin.. so could be relyed upon to keep coming... and it did sometimes appear That Sibson could go off the Boil in a Long Fight when the opponent came back at him, Sibson found Lt Heavy (Against Andries and not forgetting Earlier against Mwale) a step too far, but could he of operated at SuperMiddle Against Henry, he was a tad more versatile than Henry

Basically two Good "On top" Fighters.. Two World Class Left Hooks with Ancially Back-up ****nal But elements of Erraticness which stopped them being Top-Class Consistant

A Super Middleweight,Domestic Showdown.. The Left Hooks are Locked and Loaded. . Sibbo or King Henry ??

Sibson was the better fighter, but i've never thought he was well-suited at all to moving up in weight.

i'm not sure he'd have coped with Wharton's size and pressure(as plodding as it was) for a full 12.He wasn't really a big mover, despite actually having skilled footwork. It was more for angles and dictating exchanges at ring-centre than the kind of movement that would allow him to stay away and outbox for long stretches.

Add in his T-rex arms and a long-range approach seems out of the question. He'd no doubt get the better of jabbing and exchanges for a while as Wharton was less skilled, but despite being totally one-dimensional and often lethargic, Henry did throw very nice punches and had a devastating left-hook.I think he would hurt Sibson enough to put him into a shell, maybe get a few knockdowns and control stuff from there.IF Wharton had a lesser chin it would be different, but i can't see Sibson really hurting him.

Maybe an either way fight in a non-title ten rounder, but i'd favour Wharton coming on to win over 12 or 15.

btw i think Wharton is quite underrated among the supermiddles, if only for the danger he'd pose to fighters that tried to overwhelm him with aggression and trading.Give him respect and you didn't have to be anything special as a technician to outbox him as Castro Smith, Benn and Reid showed....but if you weren't comfortable against a heavy puncher or tried to go to war, i think he might surprise one or two higher rated fighters.A 168 Jose Luis Lopez.

Wharton vs Froch would be a classic.

    Hi Lora

Many thanks for the insightful reply, I do not think they always took the best matches, (Nobody seemed to do any homework on Mwale.. but Later Sibbo Ruined the John Collins Party... And Then came a Dangerous Don ..Curses.. ! Some may speak in Awe about the Left Hook of Cyclone Hart... I dont Think Sibbo's and Whartons are poor cousins.. Good Memories

Wharton was as hard as nails but I think Sibson could outbox him and was busier.I'll take Sibson on points.

That's the shot I see having the big effect. That lefthook downstairs by the bigger Wharton. He dug that thing in there and that's tough to absorb for a guy really not suited to moving up in weight.

Good fight and the fans would be cheering as long as it lasted. And whoever loses would leave a big part of themselves in the ring, just refusing to submit but absorbing a ton of punishment.
