In this war of British bulldogs, who prevails?

I'd like to say Sibbo but I'm being swayed by him being my hometown boyhood hero. In reality though I'm not sure.
Sibbo could definately hit though. I think Hagler once said that Sibbo and Mugabi were there hardest punchers he fought.

At Middleweight, Sibbo is better schooled and would I suspect be able to handle Benn's bombs to stop the Dark Destroyer in the middle rounds.

    Sibson TKO9

If Tony was fighting the more crafty 168lb version of Benn, I suspect Nigel would outbox Sibson where he could, and could handle the trench warfare Sibson may try to force, to turn the bout around.

    Benn WU15 (9-6)

Nah, Hagler was quoted after the Mugabi fight to of cited Hart as the hardest hitter he ever faced.

Sibson by KO in round 3 in a thrilling fight. If Anthony Logan can almost have Benn out then Sibbo can certainly stop him. Benn is always dangerous though and I would not be surprised if he knocked Sibson out.

Is that true, Russell? Where did you read that? Not doubting you at all, just interested to hear about it. I did read an interview somewhere where Hagler mentioned a left hook from Tony Sibson that he "still thinks about" when he was asked 'who hit him the hardest'. I think he is referring to a punch landed with 4 seconds to go in round 5. That's my guess. Although Hagler seemed pretty unfazed by it.

Haven't watched that in ages. Really game Sibbo, hence his following.

I think a peak, pre-Hagler Sibson wears Benn down but he'd have to keep his chin down. KDs galore !

If only Benn could've been around during Hagler's heyday.....I don't think he would beat Marvin, but would almost take it the distance, though.

LOL, if Logan and Watson are putting him on his backside, Hagler would have a field day. Benn only had a punch at 160, and even that would be unlikely to be affective against the Marvelous One.

I don't know if it almost goes the distance...but I definitely think it would be as exciting if not more as Hagler/Hearns.

the version of Benn who fought Logan was nowhere near the fighter he eventually became. That was only his 18th fight or something. He got better with the losses first to Watson then Eubank. You can't use the Logan fight Benn if talking about him at his prime. he was unbelievably exciting to watch at that time but an accident waiting to happen .
