Sibson weathers the Hurricane and scores a late TKO.

Hurricane knockouts Sibson it would be a hardslugging and exciting war but Hurricane had the better chin and was just the better fighter.

    Carter ko 5

Bit of an overstatement there?.Griffith and Florentino Fernandez, then the quality takes a big drop down.

I think both of them are now often underestimated actually.Big punchers with good ringcraft.Carter had a better jaw which may be the difference, though Sibson was stronger.

I think highly of Sibson, but I tend to think he'd have had his lights put out relatively early by Carter. Sibson was a very good mid to close range technician, but he'd be far too susceptible to Carter's power in my opinions, to really settle into any kind of groove. Carter within 5.

Carter really was a very good fighter at his best...He would have been a weapon if there had been a 154 divvy in his day.

I reckon he gets a bit underrated if anything because of the movie bullshitting the whole Giardello thing.

Sibbo was a good scrapper himself and the bigger man here..but I give the edge to Ruben in this one.

Ruben would stop Tony late in the ninth round.

Well Carter came over to England had a couple of fights with a journeyman English middleweight called Harry Scott. Carter lost the second fight and although Scott was actually no mug it probably highlights the fact that Carter wasn't as good as some of the folklore suggests. Sibbo was certainly capable of coming out on top
    here.

Both did have underrated skills as lora pointed out months ago.

Carter Vs Benton is a great display of that, although Benton was stronger and showed his inside game. You'd think Sibbo would.

    Whilst taking more himself.

Could go either way but I can't see Sibbo knocking Carter out. Despite his lack of size (nowadays he'd cut to light welter...'Hurricane' Vs Amir Khan :rofl :patsch) I think he can either force a late stoppage or do the better work to take a decision over ten.

    Very fun fight no doubt.
