My predictions: Tony The Tiger Thompson will be the heavyweight champion of the world, MARK MY WORD! although he does still have to get past Eddie Chambers... Also, Victor Ortiz I think will get past Floyd Mayweather, knock him out, that's right! KNOCK HIM OUT...now I might be wrong of course, but I successfully predicted that Manny Pacquiao would KO Oscar de la Hoya, and I was right! I have that same feeling here, I boldly predict Ortiz will give the all time great Mayweather his very first loss and KO... Tony The Tiger Thompson, Floyd Mayweather Sr, and Eddie Chambers will be on this show, in about 5 minutes...and Tony Thompson will be co-hosting...here is the link... http://www.blogtalkradio.com/wcsteelerfan/2011/09/14/tha-pugilist-korner-1
Personally I think Chambers is going to beat him pretty easily on points, Chambers is probably the most underrated heavy about. Should be a cracking fight all the same. It's a pity the winner will be getting a shot at Wlad rather than Vitali, with Wlad already having beat both men with realitive ease. I wonder if there is some way K2 could strike a deal where the winner fights Vitali with Wlad fighting someone close to Vitali's mandatory that he hasn't fought yet. I actually think Chambers could give Vitali a good fight after already destroying Fritz Sdunek's other heavy Dimitrenko with ease who is a very poor mans version of a Klitschko.
Yeah Chambers is way too skilled for Thompson, it's a shame he's a seriously undersized heavyweight, because that's basically his only weakness, although he showed a mental lapse against Povetkin.
Chambers is not a natural heavyweight, he should be weighing in at 200lbs & unifying the cruiserweight titles.
I agree that he is undersized and he does have good skills and speed, but I think his speed is part of the reason he can generally look good against the slugs of the heavyweight division. If he were to move down to cruiser of course he'd be fighting people his own size but the gap in speed an athletic ability would tighten. I imagine he'd probably fit somewhere in the top 5 but I can't confidently say that he'd rule the division.
It's possible and maybe I should have said top 3 instead. On another note I was just watching highlights from the Povetkin fight...and damn... He was messing him for the first 4 rounds but if I recall he sort of folded after that. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPmeZDBSxhU[/ame]
