The IBF eliminator really has a funny history. Thompson wasn't ranked by the IBF at the time when the IBF was going down the list offering people a chance at Wlad by winning 2 eliminators. Thompson got ranked by the IBF by beating Marcinelli (some no-name). Povetkin, Arreola, Peter, Adamek, Helenius, Boystov and more supposedly turned down the opportunity. So we get eliminators between Goosen fighters Chambers and Thompson vrs. 2 journeymen (Rossy and Harris). Then the final eliminator is cancelled--allegedly Chambers injury or Chambers ducking. Why were Rossy and Harris ranked to begin with?
Yeah, Chambers being forced to pull out of the real eliminator with Thompson (which would've been good, I think) with back trouble basically gave Thompson the shot by default.
all 4 of those fighters are American maybe it's some sort of fix, Thompson KO's Wlad to bring back the belts to the States
Fighting Wlad is kinda like getting F-d in the A. for a ton of money. No one wants it, until they had it once and no longer care. Tompson doesn't care anymore, but Povetking/Boytsov/Fury/Price/Helenius etc are all holding on to their virginity.
