I'll be keeping an eye out for him, maybe he'll be on WNF or FNF soon? I didn't see a link for his promo, just thr rankings and an interview. You have a direct link to it?
http://www.ninoboxing.com/ninoboxing/Videos.html Check out the handspeed in his 2006 promo!! He is the real deal!! Enjoy!!
He's already, I think, 32 years old...so he doesn't have time for baby steps...unfortunately, he wanted to try and avoid the major promoters in the states, and do things his way. I think he's learned by now that there's no avoiding the big boys!!
Cheers:good He's got good tools and power, would like to see him in there with some names soon. Be sure to post when you have news about his upcoming fights, definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Thompson caught WALD with a few good shots when they fought and didn't knock him over...he's not going to trouble Haye in the least, it'd just be a slaughter.
If Thompson & Haye fight I'll take that bet. Tony by UD or mid to late TKO. Haye doesn't have the chin for Heavy, Thompson is too busy for him & Tony's defense is far better than Haye's & his chin is quite solid.
Seemingly everybody wants to fight Haye. Thompson woul be an OK opponent for Haye and a very difficult one. I doubt Haye will take this fight. If he wants an easy fight he will fight the quitter Rahman,Barrett, Maskaev...If he wants a tougher opponent he will fight guys like Toney or Thompson .And with all his talk people expect him to take on a tough opponent. So far it is just blahblahblah with Haye. It is time he announces his opponent and really shows us what he is made of. He has a lot of talent but I have seen a lot of cruiserweights fail in the heavyweight division. So, we shall see.
I agree. No way Haye touches this fight. Haye would lose and he cant afford that. look for Haye to pick a name we all know to give the fight some credit, but it will be a guy way past his prime.
Dude David has boxed nothing but corpses..calm down..put him in with a journeyman I have at least heard of....give him a Friday Ahunanya or Robert Hawkins or something....putting David against a Monte or Haye yet is a WAYYYY too big of a step up atsch
I'd disagree with you big time here. I've seen Rodriguez a couple times including the Dyer fight and I see nothing special there. He may have some k.o power but I can't see him beating anyone in the top 20.
If you're talking about David Rodriguez than I'd pick Friday over him everyday of the week. He might beat Hawkins though.
As far as Thompson and Haye that fight probably never happens. Thompson is a big risk and has a style that wouldn't let Haye shine if he does win. Until I see Haye beating someone of note at heavyweight than this is about a 50-50 fight to me. Rahman is getting close to being a shot fighter and has good name value. Throw in the fact Haye would have a great shot of koing Rahman than that should be his first choice as a heavyweigt. Maskaev probably has more left and a lesser valued name than Rahman so that should be his second choice. Being he is fighting in England than Danny Williams makes a lot of sense. Fighters like Skelton, Barrett, and Ray Austin make some sense as well. Tony Thompson is not a good fight for Haye on a number of levels.
Haye early KO. Thompson looked like a novice against Wlad, and it wasn't Wlad making him look bad as he looked terrible too. Even if Haye's power doesn't carry to HW, or his chin is made of paper, he still wins a wide UD, Thompson couldn't land a punch if the fight lasted a year. Technical skill of Mormeck > Thompson Technical skill of Maccarinelli > Thomspon Technical skill of Haye >>>>> Thompson
