I just watched the fight and I felt like I was watching an unpolished slow motion version of Larry Holmes. I honestly don't know what to think of this guy. I wouldn't mind seeing him take on a real contender, and I'm also not sure if I'd care about him winning or losing. I'd just like to see him keep on stepping up, that is if he's capable of winning said fights.
I also noticed his punches look slow and weak...i will be interested to see how he does against better opposition.
I think he just fought Luan at the right time in his his career. He is a c+ fighter, and he will fail if he meets the big guys
My feeling exactly. Thompson is on the level of a Ray Austin - a guiy who can beat the hasbeens and never-wases of the division, but put him in with a top contender and he'll be destroyed.
Krasniqi WAS a top contender. It's pretty obvious he's washed up - which is why a guy like Thompson could beat him. You'll see. Thompson is OLD and limited. He's going nowhere.
Fully agree. He does manage to win, but he don't have any sharpness or real pop in his punches, from the looks of him. He seems to just kind of slowly push his shots out there, with no real power or quickness. But, he is winning some good fights and is impressing me, especially since he's been winning with such weak looking punches.
Thompson is a decent fighter. He's got a couple good names on his ledger. As for this fight, I'm willing to go with the opinion that Krasniqi is damaged goods and I base it on the Minto fight. A polished former olympian (and medalist) does not struggle with a clubfighter. I think brewster took alot out of him and once it's gone you never get it back.
He has no skills to be a real champ , no pounching power no defence . Luan probably got paid to lose otherwise he could have manged to KO Thompson in early rounds with flury and not with just one or two like he was doing .:bbb
