    Agreed.

So far, only a press release has been issued and no mention has been made of a possible reschedule of a Toney-Tompson. I consider that presse release as an insult to the long term and loyal fans of toney as it contains no mention of the reschedule. If Goossen does not announce his plan on Saturday, I agree with you that Toney should switch promoters immediately.

I think Kirk Johnson, who at least has some power, would have been a better opponent than Oquendo.

WHat is the problem with Thompson?

I'm always wondering...why all those top shape athletes always get sick while a guy like me (smoker, heavy drinker, not much sport) never get sick.

I see how this could happen also...but Toney will resort to calling him a ***** and ****** and *****, which will turn it into a fight.

Not really, Kirk Johnson has not been active for over two years and power is the last thing Toney is vulnerable to. At least Oquendo has been active and is on some kind of 'winning streak'...

Oquendo is alright for a last minute replacement (in fact he's no worse than Monte Barrett), but the situation still sucks...

Toney is vulnerable to power. If he wasn't, the fights with Peter (who is not a great boxer) would not have been competitive; Toney would have blown him out.

I don't mind Oquendo as a boxer, actually. He has had some poor fights, but also some decent showings. I just think that Toney would respect Johnson's ability and power more. I also think saying that Oquendo has been active is quite generous. A fight a year is not activity.

Johnson-Toney would have been a better fight. If Kirk had been offered it, he should have taken it for free. They're two very talented (if pretty fat) boxers. Oquendo is much less interesting.
