When you are called an atg and you haven't retired yet, you will undergo scrutiny. The only fighters today who are still fighting who we might be able to call an atg today are Floyd, Pac and Marquez...for starters.

I don't give off that title so easily. There are 3 categories of fighters in boxing.

    1. Legend
    2. ATG
    3. Great

    Wlad falls under great.

Some fighters are just another fighters Kryptonite. Wasn't a good matchup and another KO loss may have been the end of his career. The post Emanuel Steward fighter probably beats Sanders. Emanuel Steward saved Wlads career.

Good post. Sanders had Wlad's number. But Wlad still had to fight the rematch. Forrest had Shane's number. Wlad was tko'd in 2. You have to do that rematch. You just have to.

Wlad didn't have to do the Purrity rematch. I would've but he didn't. But that isn't a fight that warranted a rematch publicly. Personally you do that rematch too.

He lost his first fight with Steward as he was still fighting Wlad stupid. Younger Wlad, was more dangerous to himself obviously as evidenced by his 3 KO losses. It's not mere coincidence that the dangerous Wlad, became safety first Wlad under Steward

Just like with Lewis, Steward coached him to better use his physical advantages. Lewis often was a safety first fighter, it's just that Wlad has taken it to emberassing standards. Hence the Clinchko name and the such.

If Wlad would have continued with his old style, somewhere along the line someone with a good chin would have stayed vertical, and KO'd an exhausted Wlad. It's good for Wlad that todays contenders are such a sorry lot, and Steward agreed to train him. He protected Wlad from himself.

Lewis could fight and give and trade blows if it was necessary to win and being that he fought in a harder era, with better opposition, sometimes safety first did not work and plan B to slug it out for a victory or gain upperhand was needed and he could do that and did do that.

Klitschko cannot do that, thus why he's not in Lewis' league.

He was still in better shape than McCall who Lewis had to fetch from rehab.

:deal Correct . And add the fact that VLAD started as a pro much younger then LL did and has many more fights ! Those things considered you might say VLADS legacy is better .

Sanders signd a slave contract with Universum. Same thing. His managment had the right to excerise the rematch clase just like they excerised it against Byrd for Vitali.

    Troll on dumbass.

James Toney called the Klitschko's a pair of jokes. He has more relevance in the boxing world than Tony Thompson.

 If we're going there, I believe Larry Holmes has a few choice words for them as well. I think he might be planning a comeback after the Povetkin fight.
