Thompson at 4/1 by ANY means (KO will be even higher, but cannot find odds yet) is just TOO tempting to avoid :yep

Pulev has lost almost ALL his amateur fights to top class southpaws like Ibragimov, Romanchuk and Camarelle three times in a row.

This is a bad sign for Pulev. His non existent power is also an issue as Thompson can negate the jab as an elite southpaw, but his right won't get the Tiger's respect so he will be on his chest throwing deceptively heavy shots from all kind of weird angles.

Pulev will need an iron jaw in my opinion to win and hope Thompson gasses.

I don't know if Pulev does have an iron chin, it looks decent - but I think he will be stopped on his feet like Krasniqi was in about round 7 :good

With 200+ votes, esb members have this 5:2 in favor of Pulev. It's been close to that ratio since the first 50 or so votes.

We'll find out soon. If TT wins I'd still like to him vs Vitali for the over 40 HW crown :yep
If Pulev wins he s/b in line for a shot at Wlad.

Great informed post and I agree with everything you said. Pulev is not even as good as Krasniqi was. I know Thompson is getting old but I've went back and rewatched some of Pulev's fights and he is awful. I'm not sold on his chin at all. Walker rocked him pretty bad plus as we seen in the Walker fight he cuts easy. Krasniqi was getting this same hype Pulev is getting until Brewster and Thompson exposed him. I'm glad Pulev made the mistake in fighting Thompson so we can get rid of his hyped ass. Pulev can't even KO glass jawed bums like Walker yet his fans think he will KO Thompson. There dreaming and it is all about his race and where he is from. Easy win for Thompson and Sultan Ibragimov is a lot better than Pulev. Pulev one punch does not work against left handed boxers. The same people hyping Pulev are the same ones bashing Wilder do to his race. At least Wilder has punching power.

pulev should win this fight.he will lose the early rounds and realize he has to get nasty.pulev will just start mugging thompson and just getting wild at times.he wants this to bad to lose.he will will make it ugly and break thompson's will and then take him out.that is what will happen.

I'm very excited about this fight. At the bottom line, Pulev should win for the sake of boxing, nobody wants to see Klitschko vs. Thompson III. Tony would rightfully earn the 3rd shot by beating Pulev though.

As for the match itself, I don't think that Tony has what it takes to beat Pulev, although I like him as a boxer and he seem to be a very good man. Comfortable UD or late TKO victory for Pulev is my prediction.

^ Is there any other way to defeat someone than by TKO, KO or a Decision?

Thompson's been around the block. He knows what happens with decisions in Germany. He's going to be looking to knock Pulev out, which should make for a good fight. If Pulev's youth, stamina and jab can keep Thompson from fully executing his gameplan, Pulev will leave with a UD. If not, he's going to do the David Price dance.

I bet on Thompson at +550 to win, and hedged that with Pulev to win inside the distance at -120. I honestly don't see this lasting the distance given Thompson's lack of stamina in previous fights and Pulev's work rate.

Unless Thompson is going to just give up rounds, does anyone really see Thompson going at even 80% into the 12th?
