Tony Thompson vs. Odlanier Solis on March 22

Tiger's resume (and both the Cobra's and Doc Steelhammer's by extension) about to get even prettier. :hey

This will be his biggest accomplishment to date, and if he does it, crazily enough, he will have put himself right back in the mix for Klitschko vs. Thompson III in the near future. :!:

 

I hope Fury fights Thompson next.

Both are available and the fight was talked about already.

While the former may be, the latter is quite subjective ...and you can't deny that as far as 'names' go, the now-sullied name of an "exposed glass jawed former prospect" (not stating that as my opinion, but the popular one) holds less water than does "the biggest waste of potential at HW in the last ten years" and "the automatic #3 h2h in the division if he ever shows up fit & motivated". (again, not my view necessarily, but held by most boxing fans...)

 

This would be a great fight if it happened, but if Solis ducked Kevin Johnson, I'm expecting him to duck Thompson as well. Too bad, because I'd slightly favor him over Thompson.

 

Agree with the underlined completely, and I do get it...

But what I left (not underlined...?) is just not a valid opinion. Maybe in 2010 or 2011. At this point if you feel that way or close to it you are just nothing short of biased or going out on a limb, since if you go out on enough limbs you'll be right eventually.

A. When was the last time Solis showed up "fit and motivated?"
B. Who was the best opponent he ever looked good against? Ever? Torn knee and TKO defeat in 120 seconds does not count.

:yep Actually, it was the other way around. Johnson was signed and scheduled to meet Solis but pulled out for his shot at Klitschko.

That was years ago...forgotten about by most. Not by me! I bought tickets and traveled interstate specifically for Johnson vs. Solis and had to settle for Solis vs. Barrett instead. :twisted: I got my price of admission's worth from Lopez vs. Mtagwa, but still...

 

I meant the fight that was supposed to happen last month.

 

Well if Solis ducked Johnson last month he was only repaying the favor with 4 years' interest.
