Huge odds for TT, I'll place a high stake bet on the old man.

    They seriously underrate Solis.

Solis, for all his faults is STILL a GREAT A level HW.

I know how you love to pick apart a man's resume, but Solis' is hard to beat considering his 2 yr layoff.

Im happy he's fighting a top 20, and that Oner plans for him to campaign for both the IBF and the WBC titles.
Good move by Oner making this fight which will elevate Solis by both orgs.:thumbsup

Well my reasoning is based on who and how he fought in those last four fights.

    1. Lost to Wladimir Klitschko who is the most dominant HW Champ of the past 10-years. At the time, Thompson had never lost to anybody else other than Wlad.

    2. Destroyed 6' 8" Price in a round and a half and made it look easy.

    3. Destroyed Price again after getting up from the canvas in the 2nd rnd to score a TKO win in the 5th.

    4. Went the distance to one of the top HW contenders in 6' 5" undefeated Pulev.

I like the way Thompson fights. Very wise, relaxed and crafty. Intangibles that can't be measured on paper.

Compare that to Solis's last four fights and that's my reasoning for picking Thompson over Solis.

Thompson is awkward and Solis hasn't fought a decent lefty in a while , but be careful man. The fight is going to be in Turkey and don't forget who Solis's manager is.

Odlanier Solis signed to have the fight in Turkey because it wasn't in Spanish and he didn't fully understand what the contract meant.

He translated it as "you can have a turkey" to eat. When he saw the word "turkey" he was eager to sign! :yep

Im with ya on most your posts, but Solis is the guy who broke Larsen to the point where he was steamrolled by Hammer.

I didint give Larsen a round, and Solis was in Larsens wheelhouse the entire fight.

Larsen, to his credit, put all kinds of power on his shots, and he rocked Solis back on multiple occasions, but Solis chin never dented and he continued to school the pedophile with cracking inside combos.

Solis will get right inside Thomspons sloppy inside defense and he'll obliterate him with combination punching.

    Solis TKO 6-8.

Should be the best fight of the weekend if Solis wakes up enough to throw a high average of punches. Looking forward to it.

    Absolutely.

After the 04' Olympics he moved to SH and and won the worlds beating Glazkov (26-11) Pulev (20-17) and Zuyev (25-11).

I don't know his actual weight from then, but he looked great in those fights and proved he could be a real SHW.

I really hope he achieves, 33 is hardly old and there's some great fights at the top to be made.
