    Appreciation Thread
Anthony Tyrone Thompson is a 6'5 43 year old Heavyweight with a 40-5 27 KO's 2 KO losses record. Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA and fighting out of Washington, D.C. In my opinion Tony The Tiger should be given far more credit than he's got to date, but because of the incessant hatred of Wladimir Klitschko and the propensity his haters have to discredit every opponent he dispatches Tony has never quite got his due. Tony may actually be the P4P best current US Heavyweight, because I'm not sure Jennings or Wilder could beat him. Before the 1st Wlad match Tony only had on loss in a 4 rounder which shouldn't be considered that bad. But like many fighters lately they've started showing their worth after their loss to Wlad, and he's become a sort of Gatekeeper General for the division if you can pass the Thompson Test then you may be the real deal, and if you're slightly overhyped he'll find and exploit your weakness and expose you. His most legendary exposing was his 2 time KOing of the glass jawed David Price, and has now followed that up by a repeat double exposing of the beached whale otherwise known as Odlanier Solis, the second time by RTD stoppage. His 2 most recent losses came at the hands of the talented Takam who had just fought Perez to a draw and afterwards fighting a very spirited close fight against Povetkin before being KO'd. and Tony also lost a UD to Pulev which is nothing to be ashamed of. So give the Heavyweight Exposer in Chief a little credit he deserves it. :toney:toney:toney:toney

Outstanding thread! The best I've seen on here in a while. TT deserves more credit than he gets for sure, He should get a match with Wilder as it will get the country talking about heavyweight boxing again! It's the biggest domestic fight in the US imo.

People talk about Solis weight issue. Tony came into this fight weighing damn near 260 lbs. Seriously what's with this fat heavyweights.

Tony is 43 years old and is by no means in bad shape, none the less fat. Do you really need the difference between fat and the condition of someone like Thompson? :-(

Not to mention the 4 inch height difference. And still weighed 12 more pounds.

When it comes to exposing Hype-slobs more like. No sympathy for the fat Cuban. Solis had it all on a platter and decided to eat it all.

The first time I saw Thompson fight was when he challenged Wlad the first time. I didn't really think too much about him at the time, I wasn't as interested in the HW division as much as I am today and also at the time his performance didn't look as good as it might today looking back.

Since then he's done well for himself, earning another crack at the champ, knocking a couple of hyped fighters down a notch, and making some decent paydays along the way.

I really enjoy watching older vets of the sport continue to compete at a relatively high level off of mostly skill and ring intelligence. My favorite kind of fighters.

    Respect to Tony Thompson.

    Exactly how I feel.

Eroding physical abilities while maintaining or becoming more technically sound/savvy = great to watch
