Maybe 5 years ago. Did you see Thompson against Scott he looked awful. Reflexes gone, totally out of shape. Completely washed up. Ortiz KO by round 4

This. The Tiger is just too far gone. I would've loved to see a younger version vs Ortiz.

Not a mismatch entirely , just a fight where Tony's chances are limited. But he does have a chance, in fact a better chance than Dimitrenko had.

    Ah Tony Teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Gwarn sonnnnnn!
Can he pull off a 'Price' again??? I guess but I'm with those who think he has slipped too far.
I'm not counting him out entirely though. This could be like Kingpin Vs Joshua when the old horse gets murderized in 1 or maybe he can survive the early rounds and really test Ortiz's stamina and chin, both of which I suspect to be pretty much $hite.

Pleeeeease do it 1 last time Tones!

Probably slipped too far but good luck to him, a real fighting man and a good guy.

Losing to a fighter like Malik Scott is a clear sign that you should retire.

This might end bad for Tony.

All he has to do is become a mandatory, why is this so hard to grasp. Anyone that claims they want this or that has a path that will lead them right to the ring

    Tony's getting KO'd.

And he would always have been KO'd against this Cuban.

Prime for prime against Fury ?

    Hard to say.

I don't think Fury is in his boxing prime yet, but the best version we've seen of Thomson would beat the best Fury we've seen so far.

I think the Klitschko I version gives him absolute hell and probably takes a close decision.

i disagree tony thompson gonna get hit like hes never been hit before heavy handed punched like foreman or john tate type power and at 44 this is not a brilliant idea for him to fight a huge power puncher like ortiz ...ortiz in the 3 or 4 th rd :deal

Yeah very doubtful. Ortiz should take this handily.

Tony's competitive days are over. He's finally fighting his age...
