ya that's why foreign fighters should be very weary about facing American fighters.

id love to see what would happen if American fighters were subject to year round random drug tests like in britian:lol:

    Mosley Jr getting caught too

It would be bad news for the 'Muricans.

On a side note, what's the deal with British athletes? Do they legit never party? I mean, being serious here, they can't be smoking weed or doing coke or molly with that testing? I find it crazy and I suppose commendable they manage to lay off the recreational drugs.

athletes over here cant really risk it tbh. an example of this is Adrian Mutu he tested positive for cocaine, he was suspended for 7 months, he was sacked by Chelsea and the club successfully sued him for 17 million. The guy should be a millionaire athlete, instead his now going to spend the rest of his life in debt

imagine if that happened to all them tubby boys who test positive for drugs in the NFL? it would change the culture completely

They're all on PED's. Not literally ALL of them. But damn near every world class athlete. Their livelihoods and their families' livelihoods are at stake. You see high school athletes with no hopes of a professional career on PED's to compete yet some people believe they will become honest and clean later on when money is at stake? Oh I long to be so naive about humanity and life.

Even the best testing policies have a list of what they test for. The testing will always be behind the PED, by definition.

That depends on just how many new drugs they can invent, at some point it will probably catch up.

it not like that in soccer mate, the testing they go through is ridiculous and failing isn't worth it

Rio Ferdinand missed a drug test due to a technical mix up, did a make up one the next day, it still didn't matter, he got a 9 month ban

nfl,mlb are disgraces of organisation when it comes to drug use, soccer is the only sport id have any faith in because I know a lot of guys who have had to go through that testing

they can invent new drugs but the effects are overall the same, they raise or lower the level of naturally produced hormones and stimulus in the body

tests should be designed to look at these levels rather than something else

    I agree...

    + NBA, too.

MLB just started testing for HGH this season. Pathetic. They give too much power to the players' association (and take one guess why they might fight tooth and nail for years to approve old, and by that point outdated, testing policies?).

I really can't speak about soccer since I don't know about the sport. But don't all the different leagues have different standards of testing? Not uniform across countries, and even leagues, as far as I know. So maybe the UK Premier League (or whatever it's called; once again I won't pretend to be familiar with soccer) is intense but that doesn't mean the whole sport is.

All the testing org's praised cycling's testing policies years ago... With just a little retrospect, how did that work out for them?

I'd imagine the entire sport is pretty intense at the top level, mainly because of the governing organizations, I think the testing practices are probably similar in all the countries that are governed by a particular org (say UEFA and Europe etc).

Can't say for sure though pretty much an uneducated guess.

iv known guys in the lesser leagues and they say its pretty intense. they can turn up to your door at any time, you can be asked after a game to give a sample when you might struggle to prodce urine. I know one guy who had to stay past midnight which was about 5 hours until he could give a sample

its also not worth, Adrain Mutu got caught taken coke, 7 month ban, Chelsea sacked him and Chelsea sued him for 17 million successfully, that man will be broke for life now
imagine if when when a baseball player tested positive he got a years ban, his club let him go and then he had to pay the club 30 million dollars upwards? it wouldn't be long before it went away

He needs to have serious words with his drug dealer.

Whatever he was using clearly didn't work too well. He looked like an out of shape mess in those fights!

Must have been getting the cheap stuff!

Wait so both Thompson vs. Price I & II are now tainted/suspect? Or just the rematch? The article is worded confusingly.

Also, people need to learn the difference between a "banned substance" and "PED". All of the latter are the former but not all of the former are the latter. A lot of people seem to have a hard time grasping this facile concept.

The very acronym PED stands for performance enhancing drug. Stuff like marijuana (which shows up on tests even if you smoked it like two weeks before a fight) or even diuretics and other weight-cutting aids don't count as "performance enhancing drugs", as they do not in any way shape or form directly enhance one's actual performance the way, say, anabolic steroids do.

He also did file appeal with the UKAD, per the article, claiming the hydrochlorothiazide was part of a treatment for high blood pressure, which could be legit considering he is old as dirt.

its also a masking agent for real peds so well that's the real issue. You cant take a substance like that and not disclose it, even if he did disclose I doubt he would have been allow to compete

I wonder what's worse on here the PED hysteria or the racism hysteria?

One thing is for certain: If any of you were professional combat athletes, you would be juicing.
