Im curious who would win this fight? Tony Tubbs seemed to not have best punching power but was able to box well when he was not too overweight and Pinklon was erratic in his performances... I think Tubbs takes this in a majority win in a very close fight.

tough fight to pick, with both being somewhat unpredictable.

i say that thomas was the more naturally talented of the two, a more conventional stylist.........great jab, good power, very athletic.

tubbs was the savier fighter. a fat guy who was slick and had fast hands.

yeah, i took pick tubbs. he´d outhustle thomas for a ud.

Tubbs via UD in a fight I would not want to watch.

Tubbs had the more natural ability, but because he didn't always train, I think Pinklon uses his stronger jab to pull out a close unanimous decision. These two have sparred before, by the way.

Close fight, it could go either way.Tony beat a faded Jimmy Young, and decisioned Bonecrusher Smtih pre-title. Pinklon stopped a duped James Tillis, and Alfonzo Ratliff. In a 1985 bout, I would go with a draw verdict, too me neither had a strong defining edge over the other, but at the time, I think Pinklon was a stronger puncher, and could take a better punch, so he may pull out the win.
