- Tubbs was not known for his lateral movement or great footwork. He had fast hands. Sanders hands were just as fast and he had the right style to land the left hook which was Tubbs Achilles heel. - Bert Cooper was NOT one of his two best wins and saying that Corrie beat Wlad and Cooper just because they “ stood right in front of him “ is an over simplification. - Smith was a 14-2 nobody when Tubbs outpointed him and nothing stylistically in common with Corrie Sanders. - Yes beating Greg Page was such a huge feat in the mid 80’s that only elite greats like David Bey, Mark wills and an aged Joe Bugner could do it. - did you ever see Witherspoon vs Tubbs ? They were BOTH badly out of shape for that fight and both fought in lackluster fashion. - nice veiled attempt at trying to make it sound like any of Tubbs wins were better than even THAT version of Klitschko. Yeah Wlad changed his game after working with Steward but even pre Steward Wlad would have sparked Tubbs, Page, Smith, Norris, Seldon, etc.... - Actually Tubbs was Ko’d by Tyson, Butler and Jimmy Ellis all with left hooks and all early in fights. You might say he was past it by those meetings but he was still younger than Sanders was when he beat Wlad and gave Vitali a good fight.
Watch Tubbs against Bowe. He doesnt stand in front of him and trade. Thats how even a past prime Tubbs emerged unscathed. Against Page he lets Page initiate the role of aggressor and outboxes him. Klitchko and Cooper traded with Sanders.
