Tubbs was a gifted boxer......... No doubt........ But them KO losses to Tyson in '88 and his fluke KO loss to Raider scab Jimmy Ellis makes me wonder.........

Tubbs was lookin' good in Japan against Tyson, but in round 2, Tyson landed a short hook shot to Tubbs' temple and Tubbs folded like a lawn chair on a Saturday afternoon..... Fight basically over at that juncture.........

Tubbs was never top quality..he had boxing ability, and he would have staved off Cooney a bit longer than was customary for Cooney victims, but Gerry would have caught him eventually with a big left hook, maybe in the 8th, and would have decked him and left him on "***** street" as they used to say in the old days, and the ref would have stopped it.

Yeah, but a broken rib is a broken rib. Anyone would've backed down with that kind of pain. And I also have to mention that Lyle took Foremans, Shavers, and Ali's best, and he got back up for more. Cooney did that with one body shot. Says something about that Lethal Hook.
