Funny how losers always have a good excuse when they get beat, my arse he had a broken hand before the tyson fight

 

Sean O'Grady once put it best on commentary, explaining this peculiar mindset of fighters:

"If you lose, you weren't at your best. Because if you were at your best, you wouldn't have lost."

Fighters, to be successful, need to feel invincible. The better fighters tend to carry that belief through defeats, giving themselves rationalizations of how it could be that they had lost -- if they truly believe it (a la Ali) then they don't carry the insecurity of losing on to the next fight.

Funny because you exact same people make excuses for Tyson because Buster Douglas beat him though.

 

Why did Tyson lose to Holyfield or Lewis? Because Tyson was old even though Holyfield is older and Lewis just as old. Why did Ali lose to Frazier? A excuse. Why did Ali lose to Norton? Excuse. Why did Rocky Marciano loes to both Ted Lowry and Roland LaStarza a excuse.

So how about you just say who ever you likes you will give excuse.

 

With all the negativity posted about the excuses... Im glad to heart that Tony seems to have a positive mindset... I liked Tony and thought he had great potential.... didnt work out the way I hoped but at least he is still alive and contributing to society... many of the 80's generation have had some serious rough times..... Page, Dokes and Tate arent around to tell their tales.. would love to find out what is going on with Pinklon, The Truth, and Snipes to name a few....

 

True haha, even Trevor Berbick said he was drugged in that fight, only drug I saw was a devastating left hook

 

Once Tony had that knee injury, that was the beginning of the end, in retrospect.

 

Azzer any person who makes excuses for a ****** needs to do more than just stop watching boxing. Lewis and Tyson was the same age. Tyson paid Lewis off years before hand so he could fight a worn down Holyfield and still got knocked out.

Awww Tyson didn't take Buster Douglas seriously and spent his time partying? Foreman didn't train hard for Jimmy Young so why doesn't anybody use that excuse for Foreman?

Tyson's peak was him beating Michael Spinks? Just shows how he never had a peak. If your peak at heavyweight is beating a light heavyweight/cruiserweight then you don't have much of a peak do you.

And Tyson said right out of his mouth he knew he could never beat Lewis but wait you are going to change that around to make Tyson look better.
