Tony Tucker v Larry Holmes May 1985

    Tucker turned down a shot at Holmes in May 1985. Carl Williams accepted the fight and almost beat Larry.

    How would Tucker have done if he'd taken his shot at Larry ?

    Probably an even fight with the decision going to the champion. Tucker just a bit too timid.

    I dont think Tucker would have been ready for Holmes in 85, but he was better than Williams.

    Tucker didn't have the jab that Carl Williams had, but he may have been a better all-around fighter.He has his moments against Larry, but Larry turns it up to another level around the 11th and 12th round, and wins an easy decision over Tony.
