Spinks doesn't vacate his belt and gets Tony Tucker instead. What happens in this fight?

I suspect Spinks would of actually fought Tyson instead of Tucker, if he had not vacated his International Bribing Federation title, but either way, Spinks would of been too cute for Tucker in 87 IMO.

    Spinks WU15 (9-6)

Spinks will use all his beautiful awkwardness, his version of the Walcott waltz, his constant head feints and he will puzzle the hell outa Tucker just like he did Holmes. His jab and Right hand will get enough of Tucker’s respect to keep him from going all out and he’ll be on the losing end of a 15 round decision.

Spinks wins by 15 round UD..

If Tony ****er got Michael Spinks in 1985 to 1987, I'd bet big on ****er......:good

Spinks from '85 to '87 wanted no part of Tony ****er...... NONE!!:-(

You don't rank Spinks highly, do you? He had decent power at heavy, good speed, and good athleticism..
And you seem to have nicknames for every single fighter :lol::lol:

Well, Spinks is 1-1 with Holmes--in my book.... M.S. was beaten by Holmes in fight # 2.......

Aside from that, Spinks either out-boxed a poorly trained Holmes in 1985 or he KO'd a rusty but powerful Cooney in 1987...... Other than that, Spinks didn't do a whole lot at 200 pounds.....

Kayoing Stephen Tangsted from Norway in '86 was a "Gimmie" fight....... That sucked..... Spinks KO 3 Tangsted...... I have the HBO fight on VHS...

I think Tucker was peaked and very able to hammer Spinks in 1985 to 1987 for sure.....

    Tony "****er"

    He's got a lot more!

Spinks. Tucker fought lazy a lot, so he'd probably lose on points.

well, he wouldve done a lot more then that if he didn't fight Tyson after having only 4 fights at heavyweight. what's the point. he shouldve fought some other ranked contenders besides Tyson. hewas already a big name so that wouldn't have been a problem. instead they had to go right after one of the deadliest heavyweights ever.
poor managing. and anyway, he hardly lost the second fight to holmes. I agree it shouldve been a W on Holmes' record, but it was no robbery. i think that spinks is just too fast and tricky for Tucker.

Tucker was an enigma....... The dude had skill and talent, but he lacked vision and focus.... I'd NEVER invest in Tucker's stock...... He was way too "Iffy" for my liking..... A waste......

Tucker would take a UD over 15.He wasn't as bulked up as he would later become, and the speed would be more apparent.Spinks would be in over his head in this one.

I like Spinks, but he shure did get his ass kicked by Holmes in that second fight, it was a robbery! And I really thought Spinks had the tools to make Tyson look bad and lose, I think he froze up. Tucker Spinks is a nice fight, I could see either boy winning, I think I'd lean towards Micheal though. More tools and better defence.

Tucker was a highly capable and talented underachiever, but he was never in the same class as a peaking Tyson and aroused Holmes. Michael was too smart and cagey to get taken by Tony, especially after his experience with Cooney. TNT twice had trouble with the 5'11" Orlin Norris, a natural cruiserweight who did not exactly have crushing heavyweight power. Michael would outmaneuver Tucker en route to a clear UD.

There's a reason that Spinks avoided Tucker: he was good. Not very experienced, but good enough to beat Spinks by decision.
