Marciano didn't look any different against Cokkell and Moore than he did against Louis. Sam Silverman, who promoted lots of his fights said Rocky would look just as bad against top guys as 3rd raters.
You could give Marciano a 100 fights he wouldn't have been any more polished or skilled,he was what he was.

Marciano never carried a fighter in his life. That is one thing we can be absolutley certain of,he began to try in one fight against a no hoper got hit on the nose and promptly bombed his opponent out,Colombo said," what happened ,I thought you were going to get some rounds in,?"Rocky replied I tried but I couldnt do it. "
So throw that excuse away ! Ive asked for a source that says he was overtrained for the first Walcott fight ,you said it twice now.

I posted next day reports not years later reminiscences!
Show me a report that gives a similar verdict on Ali against a third rater?

You want to dig through Marciano literature and find the quotes or videos be my guess . This isn’t a court room and the onus isn’t on me to dig through research for ylou. A quick look at his weight Is probably all you’d need though. He felt best at 188 and he was below that. As far as your other assumptions you never accepted the fact that Ali Holmes and plenty of others were ridiculed during their day after many fights. They were thought poorly ranked amongst the greats. They were wrong at the time as is your ridiculous articles based on fights from a novice we never saw. You sir are grasping. Not to mention the fights you bring up he knocked the damn guys out lol

No, when you make a statement and get called on the veracity of it the onus is entirely on you to prove it!
I've got 4 Marciano bios, none say he was overtrained for Walcott.
You've got Jack **** and are now getting annoyed because you've been called on it!

I didn't write those articles, fight reporters sitting ringside wrote them. You label them ridiculous because they don't jive with your irrational hero worship. if they had said he looked great, you would have accepted them with open arms! Double standard hypocrisy of the first order!
Now you've got the hump because you've been bested all ends up!

The Bottom Line is quite simple to see ,you made a statement, that Marciano was over trained for the first Walcott fight, you did this without a single shed of evidence or proof to support it. I asked you for that proof and you promptly threw a hissy fit, and you did so because you haven't got any!
When you get home from work dig into your "several books," and get back to me.Until then grow up a bit!

You’re changing the subject because you have NOtHiNG! Marcianos figvt w Walcott has nothing to do with the convo. You made comments that Marciano should be discredited for having a bad fight or two to journeymen thag he knocked out. I challenged you to find me these perfect fighters thag never had a bad outing. Now prove your case or eat crow and stop deflecting

I did not introduce Walcott into the debate,YOU DID!

Nope,I never stated, implied,or suggested he should be discredited.

I never stated, implied ,or suggested that there was ever a perfect fighter,in fact in a post less than 3 days ago
I posted that the perfect fighter has yet to be born!
Do you know, not only are you a bad debater because you cannot follow a train of thought ,you also lack logic, and let your emotions take over your head, and become wildly irrational and incapable of objective thought.
All Hail Marciano The Legend With The Cleanest Anus In Boxing History!
ps Don't forget to produce those primary sources later for your " over trained "assertion!

The same is true of Marciano, and more so. He was one of those guys who could look equally bad against a ham-and-egger as against a top fighter. He could follow a good destructive performance with a very mediocre and laboured one.

That's what his oft time promoter Sam Silverman said of him.
But winning ugly is still winning!
