It wasn't a terrible mistake and it wasn't a terrible stoppage. Kov was on his way to getting stopped. The guy was in distress along the ropes then Ward got in that low blow. Tony Waived it off, he'd seen enough.

With the way Kovalev was wobbling all over in the seconds prior, I don't think it was.

I think you could argue Weeks must be incompetent/corrupt to have never warned Ward on the low blows, but I don't think there were any good options for Weeks when it came to the stoppage.

Weeks should've said something about the low blows and I worry the low blows are what led to the stoppage. I worry the low blows are what exposed Kovalev to that head shots that left him wobbling.

But the stoppage itself.... Kovalev didn't really give Weeks many options.
