Juanma shook that shite off right after he was hit. Didn't matter

I don't agree that Tony cost Marquez the fight. However, I also don't think that he was "anti Juanma" either. Lopez earned every warning he got...

are you serious? you mean like award a free throw at the end of the quarter for a foul that was committed 5 minutes ago?

If he hadn't stopped to take the point away you would be whining about the referee allowing JuanMa to foul and not doing anything. It's a no win situation.

Weeks was repeatedly warning Lopez to not hit behind the head, and to stop pulling Marquez head down......

......however, I find it laughable that Weeks decides he now wants to take a point away from Lopez, just at the instance that its actually going to benefit the fighter doing the fouling.:nut:nut:nut

I cant believe that Weeks stopped the action to take points, not knowing he was actually doing Lopez a favor.
It was ridiculous, and whats worse, Weeks took what seemed like close to a minute in stopping the action and deducting the point.

In such a circumstance where the fighter doing the fouling is badly hurt and in deep trouble, the thing a referee to do is to wait to the round is over and then deduct the point.

......and let me make one thing clear.......Lopez may very well have fully recovered and finished the round, but its beside the point......the opportunity for Marquez who had earned the right to attempt to finish, was taken away from him.:-(

Lopez was out on his feet, the time out saved him.

I've been a fan for 30 years, and I've actually seen refs at the end of a round point to every judge and signal to them he's deducting a point.

Usually the fighter who's done the fouling has just hurt the other figher with that foul.......which in most cases is why the ref stops the action right then and there to not only give that fighter time to recover, but to also in the meantime take the time to deduct points.

......but in a circumstance where stopping the action will actually benefit the fighter that is doing the fouling, you dont stop the action to deduct a point from him and give him the time he needs to make a recovery........a ref in that circumstance should warn the figher verbally without stopping the action.....and if the ref wishes to take a point away, you do so at the end of the round.
......."foul by Lopez, point here, point here, point here."

I wouldn't say that cost him the fight, but I was frustrated once he pulled them apart and Rafa was coming on against a still wobbly Lopez. I was high off the action and was looking for a possible dramatic finish, then randomly its stopped and Juanma gets a good thirty second rest.

We will never know, but it sure helped Lopez a lot. Excellent chance that Lopez would have been knocked out, or, at least, knocked down again. It was so frustrating.

Marquez got utterly destroyed. The ref hurt Lopez more than anything for constantly breaking up the action when he wasn't doing anything wrong.

Saw the fight, but was thinking about the Matthysse robbery. Lopez would have been knocked down again, probably knocked out. Lopez was out on his feet, holding on for dear life. Good thing Marquez was a small fighter. Weeks saved Lopez.

really? I can tell u clearly wanted to see juanma get ko'ed with the intentions behind this thread....now your butthurt and making excuses for his loss or maybe yours...clearly the ref was warning juanma about pushing him down but it was rafa who kept leanin down in the 1st place, and the point deduction favored your boy who lost every other rd! besides juanma was still pressing the action after being hurt
