I like Weeks, felt he is one of the better refs, but tonight I lost huge respect for him. I saw him as the fair ethical type ref, but tonight he was awful.

I thought he did well even deducting a point from Broner for holding

He spoiled the fight by waiting to long.
Guys who only know to fight dirty should be DQ-ed once or twice so they learn not to do that

After how many obvious fouls though and at what point of the fight? He had to save face. I'm not giving him kudos for finally taking a point late in the fight when it didn't matter anymore.

I do agree he could have deducted a point earlier but at least he let the fight play out ..I think the public would have been denied of a final result if it had ended in a Dq ..I like the fact that Broner got beat had it needed in a DQ we would, have to sit through another Broner fight

That was outright corrupt reffing. Worse than Lawrence Cole.

When I was talking about DQ, was talking in general. About fighters who had made a habit of fighting dirty, holding excessively and get away with it, spoiling fights and wining on points. Mayweather, Wlad, Ward in some fights, Hopkins, Dirrell.
Boxing rules should be changed a bit here to adjust them to the this era where excessive holder means crafty veteran.
They could implement a new rule, that will force the referee to take actions first in taking points from fighters that repeatedly do things like: Excessive clinches, Forearm Push, Hitting behind the head, Hitting on the break, Pushing instead of punching, Crouching below your opponents waist line, Intentionally spitting out your mouthpiece, Repeatedly turning your back to an opponent.
For example the new rule to be implemented should force the ref to take a point at every 20-30 warnings for faults. As there is a side man who keeps the time, there can be a man on the side who counts the faults. When the count reaches 18 or between rounds can announce the ring ref and ring referee could warn the fighter. 2 more faults and you lose a point.
This may reduce the 80+ clinches per fight 20+ rabbit punches behind the head, or Kidney punches while holding. Etc.

Weeks should have taken a point from Broner much sooner, but Weeks is not where nearly as bad as Laurence Cole..............Cole is the worst referee out there. It appeared that Weeks was biased toward Broner, same with the commentators......................

Weeks is a crook, he has already showed it in other fights as well.

Nothing in boxing is pure. It's all corruption. Everything.

Also, Broner didn't give a single **** about the point deduction, he immediately started fooling again right after.

I doubt even a plain disqualification could change his behaviour. **** was gross. A clinch every literally 3 seconds, and elbowing, pushing, showing gloves in the face, leaning on Porter's neck like a dead fish!

A point should have been taken earlier.
