Tony Weeks to be the ref for Pavlik/Taylor 2

If it was Smoger again, there's no way Pavlik detractors wouldn't ***** in some way or another because that would be 3 fights in a row with Smoger/Palvlik.

 

Good choice. Weeks is a competant official. Another good choice would have been Bayliss.

 

I hope Arum will push for natural judges... I mean the scoring of the first fight was horrible...

But Pavlik won't need the judges anyway.:thumbsup

Great choice, Weeks is one of the best in the sport.

 

Weeks is very good, although in truth, this will be an easy fight to referee. What I liked about him so much in Castillo/Corrales I was that he allowed the two fighters to work on the inside, and he never disrupted the action.

He also stopped that fight at the perfect moment; Castillo was clearly done, and he didn't take another unnecessary -- and potentially life-threatening -- shot.

As for Chavez/Johnson, I don't think that can be blamed on him. There just wasn't a great moment to stop that fight. That one mostly goes on Johnson's corner. R.I.P.

 

Just be thankful we didn't get stuck with Nady or Byrd!!!

I think he gave Corrales too much time to recover after the knockdowns.

and others but he's most remembered for the chico vs castillo

 

Weeks was the ref for one of the greatest fights ever, Castillo/Corrales, so yes this is a good choice imo
