Because he was an unworthy gold medallist and has looked like dog**** in the pros thus far. If he goes on to prove me wrong then good for him but everything suggests that he's going to be a bust IMO.
If you dismiss the legitimacy of his medal, then should Joshua who many believe lost to the Italian Cammarelle and Erislandy Savon the Cuban.
Clearly has no money behind him, because if he did, this would have all been brushed under the rug. Thats how things work in boxing. At 26 he is still young and he can easily absorb 1 year out. No problem. Some fighters who are active take that amount of time out voluntarily when they are working on "things"
Yeah he got gift decisions against Hrgovic and Joyce. We all know the scoring in that games was particularly bad, Conlan and others got screwed too, so much so we might not see boxing at Tokyo. Yoka has a very amateurish style, no power, weak chin, no inside game. Maybe Hunter can make him a better fighter but he's got a lot of work to do before l would see Yoka as a serious prospect.
He needs to fight tall and tighten up his defense. If can do both, I only see the 6'6" ft and above monsters in the division posing a problem to him. People underestimate how far you could go at heavyweight on height alone.
Joshua did lose to Savon. Anyone bar the judges could see that. I was there and everybody in the building saw it as an absolute robbery.
Losses to cheaters have no effect on one's career. You can't even concede that's a terrible break, to experience multiple times within just a few year period?
