Tony Yoka called out Filip Hrgovic: The two of us have a long history.

Hrgovic should take it. Good stay busy fight, easy KO.

 

I think Yoka showed plenty of heart against Bakole and Takam.

 

You're right, heart is not the right word, probably more like fire or drive is what he is missing.

 

Do you think Hrgovic has any more power than Bakole?

Hrgovic just isn't that massive a puncher IMHO - I think it's unlikely he'd stop Yoka. I'd be 95% this would go to points... And even though Yoka isn't great on points either, I think it'd be competitive there.

I just think Hrgovic is way overrated.

No but he's way better than Bakole would would tee off on Yoka even easier. He's not slow like Bakole either

 

Bakole was quite quick and nimble against Yoka, and he put his punches together better than Hrgovic who is more of a right hand bomber.

 

Bakole lost to ajagba, he sucks. Overrated because he beat a hypejob. Bakole would get slept by Zhang, dude would tee off on Bakole. Hrgovic actually called bakole out recently. I have no doubt Hrgovic KOs Yoka

 

It was a close fight. And the Bakole who fought Yoka was better than the one who fought Ajagba.

 

He's got a better chin - and he's not as slow... But he still has an awful gas tank and doesn't knock out anyone durable... Dubois isn't that hard to stop - Hrgovic never looked like seriously hurting him.

But he's not way better than Bakole IMHO - slightly better, yes, but it's not like one is special and the other trash... It's more that Hrgovic is very overrated and the loss to Parker burst the bubble around Bakole's hype.

 

Hrgovic beat zhang who smoked Joyce twice. Joyce had beaten the quote on quote more proven Parker and stopped Dubois. Who did Bakole beat ? There's a gulf in resume here but for some reason you wont acknowledge it like you do other examples. Hrgovic also beat Joyce and was the mandatory challenger for years

 

The Zhang fight could have gone either way.
Hrgovic has a better resume, but let's not talk like it's so far away from Bakole who beat Anderson/Takam/Yoka.

 

Hrgovic beat him, Zhang scoring a knockdown and giving hin problems is what happened. Hrgovic took over and teed off on Zhang.

 

Hrgovic has an A1 chin... And squeezed past Zhang in a 50/50 that could've gone either way - and Zhang has a 4-6 round gas tank and has never beaten a top 200 opponent on points. He even drew with Jerry Forrest - that's how good he is on points.

The biggest takeaway is that Hrgovic has a great chin - but to struggle on points with Zhang is a sign that Hrgovic isn't amazing on points either.

He beat shot to pieces Joyce... On cards.
After Chisora beat him on cards.

And he was mandatory for years sat on his ass avoiding fighting anyone to cling onto that status.

There are massive asterisks next to Hrgovic two best wins.

And aside from that, there's nothing that special.

He's decent, but he's overrated.

 

Croatian should take it and destroy him for us. This could be the beginning of his redemption.
Yoka is such a POS that even Dave Allen, who loves everyone, was really angry at him for being on big roids during their fight and causing him grief.
