The source: This content is protected I do not know Wallish but Hammer is an interesting choice for risk / reward. He is still 16th on Boxrec, oddly enough. So I guess we can forget the fight against Duhaupas.
Wasn’t wallisch lined up to face wilder not so long ago? Fight didn’t come off and then Wallish went off the radar
Wallisch took his first loss to Hammer via 5th round KO, then got blasted out by Efe Ajagba in 2. Yoka should destroy him in short order. The Hammer fight’s very interesting though, I’d argue he’s roughly equal competition to what Yoka would be facing in Duhuapas.
Hammer will be a great step up. Since getting toyed with by Fury, Hammer exposed Teper and Wallisch, ended Price’s hopes for a tilte shot and even against Povetkin and Ortiz, he took them the distance and made it competitive on spots. If Yoka dominates him and gets him out of there, It’ll promote him from prospect status and put him right into contention.
Wallisch is the new age Dimitrenko. Had talented but was lazy and since being exposed the pressure is off and he's content with being the "opponent" and showing to fall down and get payed. Hammer doesn't show up to lie down and is decent fringe contender. Agreed. Good step up for Yoka to take.
