    Tony Victor James Yoka is a 6'6 23 Year Old Super Heavyweight Amateur. Born in and fighting out of Paris France. Yoka is evidence you should never write off a promising young prospect just because they encounter some rough waters in their young career even though he holds an impressive amateur win over hot prospect of the moment Joseph Parker when he was 18 taking Gold at the Summer Youth Olympics. However everything fell apart after that. He lost to Hrgovic and Cammerelle and that was followed by him being taken out twice once by brilliant Cuban Amateur Erislandy Savon by way of KTFO and then he lost to Magomed Omarov by RTD due to an injury at 19 and 20. Add to that a few losses in the WSB. One might be tempted to give up and think they had no chance after being stopped twice but he's pulls himself up by the bootstraps and honed his craft and got a lot better, so much better in fact that he just became the AIBA Super Heavyweight Champion and has a surefire ticket to the 2016 Rios Olympics. And he did it by taking out three top amateurs in succession Filip Hrgovic his former conqueror, Joe Joyce who rocked him badly and finally by toppling Ivan Dychko of Kazakhstan. So if he keeps on this path he may eventually become the Gold Medalist in 2016. So Check Out The Artist painting his Masterworks, let's just hope he can paint himself a sturdier chin, he's gonna need it.:toney:toney:toney:toney

    He wont got far at the pros.If he turns pro at of course.
    Lomachenko's opponent in the olympic final did turn pro and won all his pro fights but quit the pro game as he couldnt earn any decent bucks there.An Arab-French olympic silver medalist with a french promoter who could hardly make a living.Damn! That guy was better than the mayority of his American and Mexican rivals but was lost in transition due to his ethnic background and passport.
    The name of the pro game is money.
    You go nowhwere if you have the wrong nationality,the wrong passport,no powerful American,German,British or Japanese promoter,no big tv channel which backs you,and no conections.The best dont fight the best at the pros.
    Yoka is just not financially attractive outside the totally insignificant french market.

    :lol: A french heavy weight champ.Man,this sounds truly weird.

    Even then I doubt that the French would care very much for the fight game.They just prefer eating snails to watching boxing.

    He'll need the Maginot Line around his chin if he turns pro.

    Yoka I think was a little lucky to win the world amateurs. He's good, but not that good

    Vitali could knock Wilder out with ease, and get his belt back if he wanted to as well.

    Of course he would, Lennox Lewis could come out of retirement and do it too. Vitali would smash the majority of the current top 20.

    I do not think an Olympic gold medal super heavyweight champion who has *MCI is good for pro boxing fans. As such I can't root for him. No more Harrison's!

    MCI = Major Chin Issues

    Exactly what would Djelkhair be doing in France to make more money than he was boxing?

    I guy like Najib Mohammedi may not be rich, but he makes a lot more money than your average Aye-Rab "Frenchman" in Paris.
