Tony Yoka, the worst Olympian ever, has fallen completely into oblivion.

Whatever, I doubt anyone cares that much about him. He is of the people who prove the amateur boxing is just for start, but there is only one place to become a big name (or show your true level) - professional boxing.

 

Many on here were not sold on him for good reason. He robbed Hrgovic and Joyce at the Olympics and then he had those 4 missed drug tests. He also showed zero improvement as a professional, I honestly don't know what Virgil Hill was doing with him because even a dumbass like Khan was able to pick up a few tricks from Hill but Yoka showed no changes or improvements.

I fully expected him to get exposed at some point, didn't think it would be Bakole and definitely not Takam.

 

Yeah he is in the Harrison category

 

I wouldn’t call him a below average fighter. He’s simply been too inactive. One fight every 8-10 months is not enough for a developing fighter like him to stay sharp and fight to his potential. Had he been
more active he most likely would’ve beaten both Bakole and Takam.

I also think Yoka needs another trainer, since Hunter no longer has any motivation as a trainer and should retire. The last thing a fighter needs is a lethargic trainer.

 

Yeah I recall you being one of those like me who didn't see the big deal with him.

 

This is what happens when a fighter has a glass jaw. You gotta have a chin to make it in pro boxing!

 

Waste of some good size and athleticism. A massive Olympian in his prime should dominate a much smaller 40 year old like Takam, but he just doesn't have it.

Didn't even realise Yoka fought and lost to 42 TAKAM LMAO...

 

Neither was shocking in the least. The guy had some scary moments against Dave Allen. He was obviously the Francophone equivalent to Price/Harrison.

 

It has been a pretty shocking fall. Almost as shocking as the fact he could still easily be undefeated, given the extremely favorable scores he received in his two losses. (Lots of home-cooking going on.) We remember those fights as bad losses, but he almost got the nod in both.

Yoka looks like he joining the Tyrell Biggs/Audley Harrison club. But even those guys got heavyweight title shots. Yoka fell apart before he even made it that far.

 

Not having $$$ to beg against him in the Takam fight broke my heart.
