Yoka has lost a lot of time and ground due to his failed test. Duhaupas is a good test for him at this stage but if he comes through it, which he should, he will need to push on hard to get in the picture. It would be good to see Boxing in France regain some momentum. I'm old enough to remember when we had guys like Roger Menetrey, Jean Claude Bouttier and Gratien Tonna giving British Fighters some great contests.
Solid step up for Yoka, this will be very interesting but I'm leaning towards / hoping for Yoka to make a statement (not necessarily by KO, more beating someone like this within his first ten fights) have a chance to throw himself into the mix.
Good fight -- looking forward to it. Duhaupas is a pretty decent challenge, only problem is that he's also about to turn 40. Still, beating him will be a nice enough feather in Yoka's cap.
Duhaupas is nearing 40 now and the Helenius win was over 4 years ago, so he should be a safe but solid opponent for Yoka. Yoka should win on points or wear him down and stop him. Duhaupas has never really been anything but solid so shouldn't pose much of a threat if Yoka is a genuine contender.
I predict a referee stoppage in favor of Yoka. Glad to see Yoka in a more serios fight finally. It's about time.
Yoka via decision (fairly wide) I doubt that Yoka has the power to get the stoppage here as the French pastry chef has a good set of whiskers on him. Although he has been fairly inactive in the last 2 years and he is nearly 40. So a late stoppage isn’t out of the question.
Johan Duhaupas is ancient and was never much good to begin with. Tony Yoka is already 28. Will he fight anyone with a pulse before he's 30?
He seems to get stunned the same way Price does. It´s not that the lights go out, but it´s just that no one is home. It´s odd.
Yoka looks a bit like a HW version of Amir Khan. Really fast for his size, but he just moves a lot for the sake of being flashy and gets buzzed when someone hits him with a good shot while he's moving around. He was stopped as an amateur, in World Series of Boxing and was hurt multiple times by Jonathan Rice, durning the 2nd half of the fight he was running and holding for dear life, Virgil Hunter told him not to engage. That fight was actually really close, if it had happened outside of France it could have been an upset...
He'll have a pretty good resume for only 8 pro bouts, with Duhaupas, Wallisch, Dimitrenko, Dave Allen and Jonathan Rice. It's better than pretty good actually. He should take on Takam or Christian Hammer after this.
It's only better than average because normally it is of a ridiculously poor standard, just padding up the resume. Still, will Tony Yoka fight anyone with a pulse before age 30? Who knows?
